Tonight was a special one on the mats! We had the privilege of welcoming Professor Gino, 3rd Degree Black Belt, all the way from California to train with us. Jiu-Jitsu has a way of connecting people from different places, backgrounds, and academies through one shared passion.

We took 8 students to the Grappling Industries Cincinnati tournament on Saturday and they definitely showed up ready to get there rounds. We earned 5th place Kids Academy with 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze medals! Even though we had some bracketing hiccups, we appreciate everyone who showed up ready, and showed up to support!

What makes us most proud is the hard work, discipline, courage, and sportsmanship these students displayed. Some walked away as gold medalist. Some came up just short. Every single one walked away better than they were when they stepped on the mat.

Great turn out tonight for our 3-5 Year Old Jiu Jitsu and our Thursday Night No-Gi Jiu Jitsu! Thank you Coach Kris and Coach Reannah for your dedication to our students! Your effort is shown through our students on and off the mat! Congratulations to our student of the week for 3-5 year olds for his consistency on the mats, work ethic and overall attitude!

One of the greatest compliments a white belt can receive isn’t a stripe or a medal, it’s earning the respect and trust of the parents who watch you assist training their children. By showing up consistently, leading by example, encouraging others, you have become someone families look up to.

You earned this. Be proud of how far you have come, but remember that this is only the beginning. Keep learning, stay humble, and continue becoming the kind of teammate and leader others want to follow.
