Today, One Child At A Time had the privilege of presenting our Outstanding Service Award – Awareness Through Action to Josh Harris and Darlington Raceway in recognition of their outstanding commitment to raising awareness about human trafficking in our community.

The phrase "Awareness Through Action" represents exactly what this partnership has been about. Josh has done more than support a cause; he has taken action by using the powerful platform of Darlington Raceway to educate the public, bring our community together, and help protect vulnerable children from exploitation.

On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we are especially grateful for leaders who understand that awareness alone is not enough. Real change happens when awareness is followed by action.

Thank you, Josh, for your leadership, your partnership, and your heart for protecting children. Because of your willingness to stand with One Child At A Time, thousands have been educated, conversations have been started, and lives have been impacted.

Tomorrow is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

This year's United Nations theme, "Trapped Behind the Scam," shines a light on a growing form of human trafficking that is often hidden from public view. Across the world, transnational organized crime groups are exploiting thousands of people by forcing them to participate in large-scale online scams and financial fraud operations. Victims are trafficked, controlled, and exploited through forced criminality, where human trafficking, cybercrime, financial fraud, money laundering, and corruption intersect.

By wearing blue, you are helping raise awareness that human trafficking does not always look the way people expect. It can happen online, across borders, and through deception and coercion.

Fourteen arrests.

Fourteen individuals will now face accountability because law enforcement agencies were willing to investigate, collaborate, and act.

Online child sexual exploitation remains a difficult and uncomfortable subject. In some agencies, these cases may receive limited attention because they are complex, time-consuming, difficult to investigate, and sometimes viewed through the lens of whether a conviction can ultimately be secured.

But the value of working these cases cannot be measured only by a conviction rate.

Every investigation matters. Every report deserves attention. Every effort to identify an offender has the potential to prevent a child from being groomed, exploited, sextorted, trafficked, or sexually abused.

Operations like this demonstrate what is possible when law enforcement agencies work together and refuse to look away from crimes occurring behind a screen.

The outcome is bigger than a detention statistic.

Because when an offender is identified, when exploitation is interrupted, and when another child is prevented from becoming a victim, in the end, a child wins.
