Pre-K registration opens tomorrow for the 2023-2024 school year!

Florence City Schools invites parents to a Back-to-School supply and clothing giveaway event at the Falcon Parent Resource Store located at Burrell-Slater School (610 W. College St.) on Friday, August 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. Supplies and clothing are FREE for currently enrolled FCS students.

Important Dates for Handy Families

- Parent Orientation (Infant & Toddler Classes): August 4 at 2:00 p.m.
- Parent Orientation (Pre-K): August 5 at 2:00 p.m.

- Meet the Teacher for ALL students: August 8 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. (come and go)

- First Day of School: August 9

Pre-K does not have a supply list, but if you'd like to donate any items it would be appreciated.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2-6. If you would like to provide lunch or snacks for the teachers and staff one day that week, please reach out to the school office at 256-768-3400.

Handy Parents, Friday, April 15, will be a regular school
day for our students.

Due to the threat of severe weather, we will not have our Pre-K (4 yr olds) after school today, April 6. Parents of our infants and toddlers should plan to pick them up no later than 3:30 p.m.

We are celebrating the Week of the Young Child this week at W. C. Handy School. On Music Monday, we enjoyed an interactive music program with Jennifer Daniels. Thanks to the following sponsors Tennessee Valley Pediatrics, Coldwater Landscaping, First Metro, Butler Studios, Carson Cruise - Pediatric Dentist, Nathan Johnson Attorney at Law, Butler for Alabama.

Today on "Tasty Tuesday" of the Week of the Young Child, Chef Lewis and Lucy demonstrated what a chef does in the kitchen. Each class will have a special snack in their classrooms today.
