FAST is a USA Competitive Swim Team, serving Florence and the surrounding area for the last 50 years. All members of FAST are registered with USA Swimming.
The purpose of FAST is to provide swimmers in Florence and the surrounding area an opportunity to participate in organized swimming. The team provides opportunities for all to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice swimmers to top competitors. FAST began in the early 1970s as an AAU team and became the Pee Dee's only USA Swimming team. Every year, t
he team has swimmers who qualify for and compete at the state and regional level. Many years, including the 2016-17 season, FAST swimmers go on to qualify and compete at the national level. As swimmers graduate from FAST, many (over 100) have swam for colleges/ universities and at least 5 FAST alumni have qualified for and competed at the Olympic Trials. FAST is a member of the South Carolina Local Swimming Committee (SCLSC). The SCLSC is the governing body for competitive swimming in South Carolina. The SCLSC is a member of USA Swimming which is the governing body of competitive swimming in the United States.

From a state champion swimmer in Wisconsin to a dual-sport athlete at the University of South Carolina, Kinsey’s passion for endurance sports has never stopped. 🏃♀️🚴♀️🏊♀️
Today, she continues inspiring others through master’s swimming, triathlons, cycling, running, and coaching. Kinsey lives with her husband, John, and their daughter, Braelyn, who proudly swims for FAST! 💙

🏊♂️😎Meet Coach Xavier! Then vs Now 🤩🏊♂️
Xavier is currently a middle school Physical Education and Health teacher at Butler Academy and brings years of competitive swimming experience to our team. 💪
🌊 He swam competitively for 11 years, including with FAST during his freshman and senior years of high school. He continued his swimming career at Davis & Elkins College, where he competed as a NCAA Division II swimmer for all four years. 🏅
Now, Coach Xavier is excited to give back to the program that helped shape his journey and is looking forward to an incredible club season! 🌟
A former Team Canada international and NCAA standout at the University of Michigan and the University of South Carolina, Victoria brings championship experience, proven leadership, and a passion for developing swimmers of all ages. 💙💛

🏊♀️ Meet Coach Stephanie! Then vs. Now 💙
Stephanie began her athletic journey in track before transitioning to competitive swimming at the Gaborone Aquatic Centre in Botswana. She went on to earn a spot on the Botswana National Team, achieving two podium finishes at the SNSA Nationals in Swaziland. 🥇🏅
A true multi-sport athlete, Stephanie competed in swimming, athletics, netball, and collegiate rugby. Her competitive experience fuels her passion for helping young athletes develop confidence, discipline, and resilience—both in and out of the pool. 🌊💪
As a coach, Stephanie is dedicated to creating a positive environment where swimmers can thrive, while building strong relationships with athletes and their families. 🤝✨
