We ❤️ our teachers!

Every day in our Catholic schools, teachers do far more than teach lessons.

They help students ask meaningful questions, discover their gifts, persevere through challenges, grow in confidence, and recognize God’s presence in their lives and in the world around them.

Every day, our teachers are Lighting Our Way.

They model faith.
They encourage curiosity.
They set high expectations.
They notice the student who needs a little extra encouragement.
They help young people understand that what they learn matters because of who they are becoming.

Catholic education is built on relationships like these: educators walking alongside students as they grow in knowledge, faith, character, and purpose.

The Jaguars had a strong showing at the Brooks Invitational on Saturday. Congratulations to Isabella on her 2nd-place finish, Kyler on finishing 11th, and Wesley on finishing 13th in the small school division!

A beautiful day to learn. A beautiful day to play. ☀️🐾

There’s nothing quite like recess on a sunny day! Fresh air, big smiles, and time spent running, playing, and laughing with friends make for some of the best moments of the school day.

We love seeing our Jaguars enjoy the simple joy of being kids.

We’re excited to have a Chess Club at SJS this year, thanks to two wonderful parent volunteers who are generously giving their time and investing in our students! 🐾

Chess is much more than a game. It encourages students to think ahead, solve problems, practice patience, build confidence, and strengthen critical-thinking skills. Most importantly, it gives students of all ages and skill levels another fun way to learn, connect, and challenge themselves.

There’s always room for more players! Whether your child already knows how to play or has never touched a chess piece before, we’d love to have them join us.

The next move is yours, Jaguars! ♟️

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of the first day of school!

Today, our halls were filled with smiling faces, happy reunions, and lots of excitement as we officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year.

We were especially excited to welcome many new students and families to the SJS community. We also started the morning with our annual Boo Hoo Woo Hoo Breakfast, giving parents a chance to visit, enjoy breakfast together, and celebrate this new chapter.

Thank you to our faculty, staff, students, and families for making the first day so special. We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing in faith, and making lasting memories together.

As we prepare to welcome our Jaguars back tomorrow, we’re thankful for a beautiful evening of prayer and community at our annual Backpack & Playground Blessing. 🙏

Together, we asked God to watch over our students, families, faculty, and staff as we begin a new school year filled with opportunities to grow spiritually, shine academically, and serve others.

Thank you to everyone who joined us as we kicked off the 2026-2027 school year in faith. We can’t wait to see our Jaguars in the morning!

Atlas has officially reported for duty… and that can only mean one thing… school is almost back in session! 🐾❤️

While Atlas made his rounds, our faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for the new school year. From setting up classrooms to participating in professional development, we’re ready to welcome our Jaguars!

A special thank you to Officer Patterson for leading our annual school safety training and helping prepare our staff for a safe and successful year.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back on Thursday!

📚 Don’t forget! Join us tonight at 6:00 p.m. for our Backpack & Playground Blessing. Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Junior High parent meetings will also be held following the blessing.

Yesterday, we loved hearing about all the adventures our students had this summer! From family vacations to camps and time spent with friends, it was fun seeing how everyone spent their break. Now it’s our teachers’ turn!

There’s a little over a week until our halls are filled with laughter, learning, and smiling faces once again, and we can’t wait! We’re so excited to hear all about your summer adventures! Whether you traveled, went to camp, spent time with family, learned something new, or simply enjoyed a slower pace, we want to see what you’ve been up to.
We know some of our students even spent last weekend competing at the Alabama State Swim Championships in Auburn.
