HAPPY BIRTHDAY Katie Terry Thank you for spending the day with us 💪

Most adult training programs live almost entirely in one direction: straight ahead.

At FIT, we train the full athletic system. ⚡️

Today’s lateral-focused session included:

🏃‍♂️ Lateral box jumps → depth drops → vertical jumps
💥 Lateral med-ball slams
🔔 Lateral-step kettlebell snatches
🏋️ Side squats, pull-ups/chin-ups, and military press
🛡️ Arm care and trunk control to finish

That is power, strength, deceleration, lateral force production, upper-body pulling and pressing, shoulder health, and core control—all organized with a purpose.

Then we build the week around it: sagittal day, lateral day, rotational day.

The result is not just “getting a workout in.” It is becoming stronger in the positions life actually puts you in—so you can look, move, and feel athletic again. Better body composition. More confidence. More capability. Less feeling like your body has become fragile, stiff, or limited.

Functional. Intelligent. Complete.

If you’re tired of generic workouts and want coaching that helps you reclaim your athleticism, come try Total Fitness. Send us a message or hit the link in our bio. 💪

You don’t find time—you make it.

Most people do not have a time problem.

They have a priority problem.

Because the same person who says they “don’t have time” to train can usually tell you exactly what happened in the show they watched, who posted what, and what they scrolled through for the last two hours.

That is not judgment. It is an audit.

You don’t need a perfect schedule. You need to decide that your health, strength, energy, and ability to show up for the people who depend on you belong on the calendar.

You make time for what you have decided matters.

What are you making time for this week?

Another one heads off to college! Incredibly proud of how CONSISTENT this guy has been since MIDDLE SCHOOL.

He has always worked hard and carried a great attitude, but what separates him is that he kept showing up…

Dudes gone through more adversity than most college athletes face in an entire career.

That matters. Talent can get your foot in the door but consistency, character, and the ability to keep moving forward when things get hard are what allow you to stay.

Proud of the young man Jackson has become, and grateful I got to coach a small part of his journey.

This is not the finish line. It is the beginning.

Good luck brother! 🏈

A years difference.

155 lb → 200 lb.
6.90 sixty → 6.80 sixty.

He added 45 lb—a 29% bodyweight increase, ~31% more forward momentum while running a faster time.

And a new PR 🚨

It’s been a privilege to coach Reid Nix throughout his high school career.

For four years, Reid has shown up, put in the work, and remained incredibly consistent. Year after year. That kind of commitment compounds, and now he gets to take the next step ⚾️

Reid reports to college next week, and I couldn’t be more excited to watch his career unfold. He has the ability, work ethic, and character to become one hell of a pitcher at the next level.

Proud of you, Reid.

Most of us have spent our entire lives believing the goal was simply to get fitter.

But after nearly a decade of operating the FIT Facility and after dropping into gyms all over the country, I think most people are trying to solve the wrong question.

I’ve watched ordinary adults become incredibly capable movers.

Not because they memorized workouts.
Not because they became elite athletes.

Because they learned to adapt.
To move well.

To solve new movement problems with confidence.
That’s athleticism.

And I think it’s far more valuable than simply becoming better at exercising.

Form typically follow function, read all about it in our newest article.

🔥 Conditioning isn’t just about surviving a workout. It’s about producing quality output—again and again.

Today’s Total Fitness session looked simple on paper:

⚡️ 15 seconds of work
😮‍💨 15 seconds of rest
🔁 6 rounds at each station
➡️ Rotate through 5 stations
⏸️ Halftime
💥 Repeat.

But there was one rule:

Choose the heaviest weight you could move with quality for 5–8 reps.

That changes everything.

Most conditioning programs force lighter weights simply to keep you moving. We intentionally bias our sessions toward repeatable strength and power, not endless fatigue.

Why does that matter? 👇

✅ Build strength under fatigue without sacrificing movement quality.

⚡ Improve your ability to produce force repeatedly—not just once.

❤️ Train both your muscular and cardiovascular systems at the same time.

🦴 Relatively speaking, lower orthopedic cost than many traditional conditioning workouts by using controlled loading instead of endless impact.

💪 Preserve lean muscle while improving work capacity.

🏃 Improve your ability to handle everyday life—from carrying groceries to chasing kids to weekend adventures.

🧠 Teach your body to recover quickly between bouts of effort instead of simply surviving exhaustion.

📈 Increase your overall athleticism—not just your calorie burn.

At FIT, conditioning isn’t random cardio.

It’s programmed with purpose.

Every interval…
Every rest period…
Every load…
Every station…

…has a reason

Most adult fitness programs live almost entirely in one lane:

Squat.
Hinge.
Press.
Pull.
Run forward.

All good things—but incomplete.

Friday at FIT is our rotational power day. ⚡️

We use rotational box jumps, rotational depth drops, rotational kettlebell cleans, and rotational medicine-ball slams because adults still need the ability to create, absorb, and redirect force through rotation.

That is real-world athleticism.

Picking something up, changing direction, bracing against a twist, swinging, throwing, stepping, reaching, turning, catching yourself—life is not lived in a perfectly straight line.

The rotational box jump trains explosive force through the hips.

The rotational depth drop teaches the body to absorb force and control position after rotation.

The rotational kettlebell clean develops power, timing, trunk stiffness, and coordinated force transfer.

The rotational medicine-ball slam lets adults express power aggressively without needing maximal impact or maximal joint stress. 💥

This is Functional Intelligent Training.

Not random movement.

Not circus tricks.

Not conditioning disguised as power.

Power work has to be coached before fatigue ruins the quality.

Angles matter.
Foot position matters.
Landing position matters.
Progressions matter.

That is what separates intelligent strength and conditioning from ordinary group exercise.

We are not just trying to make adults tired.

We are trying to keep them powerful, athletic, and capable. 💪
