Mrs. Jeffries’ 8th grade Earth Science students have been learning about the importance of matter and its different states.

To dive deeper into solids, liquids, and gases and explore how they interact, students participated in a hands-on lab day making rock candy!

Using sugar, water, food coloring, and a heat source, students got to see science in action while creating a sweet result! 🍬🔬

This week, Wyatt Tomlinson of Star Baptist Church shared a powerful message with our students from Matthew 13:47 50, the Parable of the Fish Net. He reminded students of the importance of understanding God’s Word and the truth of the Gospel.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have community leaders pour into our students and encourage them in their faith. Thank you, Wyatt, for sharing God’s Word and the Gospel with our students.

Recently, our Senior CCR students had the opportunity to present their vision for the future as part of their career and college readiness journey.

Students shared where they hope to be in 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years, discussing both their personal and career goals. They reflected on the steps they will need to take to reach those goals while also considering how God may direct their paths along the way.

It was exciting to hear our seniors speak about their dreams, plans, and the futures they are working toward. We are proud of the young adults they are becoming and look forward to seeing how God uses their gifts, talents, and passions in the years ahead.

Our goal is not only to prepare students for what comes next, but to help them understand that their future has purpose and that God's plans are greater than anything they can imagine.

Today at chapel, Coach Laster challenged our students to learn the mission statement and Daniel successfully accepted the challenge.

Then, Coach Jay challenged our students with a powerful reminder: the most dangerous distance is 12 to 14 inches, the distance between your head and your heart.

It is easy to know about Jesus. We can know the Bible verses, hear the stories, and know the facts. But knowing about Jesus is not the same as truly knowing Jesus.

Coach Jay reminded our students that our faith is about a relationship with Jesus, not simply religion. James 2 and Romans 10 remind us that faith is more than knowledge. We are called to believe in our hearts and live out that faith.

Matthew 15:8 says, “These people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.”

That is a question worth asking ourselves today. You may know the Bible. You may know the verses. You may know the facts about Jesus. But do you really KNOW Jesus?

Our prayer is that our students will not simply know about Him, but that they will know Him personally and walk in a genuine relationship with Him.

Relationship over religion.

Our K3, K4, and K5 students spent time in devotion learning from Genesis. They talked about God’s creation and how He gave Adam the authority to name all the animals.

What a sweet reminder for our youngest Lions that God created everything with purpose and gave us the responsibility to care for His creation.

We love watching our students grow in their knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
