The PTO's brand new flower bulb fundraiser just went live! Order beautiful tulips, daffodils, or crocus for yourself or another gardener in your life. Orders will be ready to pick up at JFK in mid-October, just in time for fall planting. (There's even an option to donate bulbs to JFK to help beautify the campus!)

We held our last JFK PTO meeting of this year tonight and are celebrating a few things:

1. Our amazing outgoing President Tanya Dragan who has served on the PTO six years and spent her time, energy, and talent to support our school, teachers, students and staff.

2. Our beautiful Thank You card from the students for the PTO donation of 12 air conditioning units for the upstairs classrooms. The report: the classroom nextdoor was 90+ degrees by 10am while the one with an AC was high 70s/low 80s last week.

3. All of the things we were able to purchase for our students, the support to field trips, and staff appreciation moments — thanks to the generous support of our JFK community.

The PTO is having a calendar raffle during the month of March to raise money for 8th graders who need financial assistance to go on their class trip to Washington DC in the spring. With a drawing each day, a single ticket gives you 31 chances to win!

Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20, and all sales are online. You can purchase them at this link: https://ticketstripe.com/JFKMiddleSchool or scan the QR code on the calendar.

Pizza & drinks provided by the PTO. If you’d like, please bring a dessert or side to share (please label any allergens). Then, caregivers are invited to join us in the library for the first PTO meeting of the year!

All caregivers and JFK staff welcome. Students are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

We’ll be on the lawn in the front circle // in the event of rain, event will be held in the Cafetorium.

A Note from the (Amazing) JFK 6th Grade:

The 6th grade has been fundraising for Water for South Sudan to help “deliver sustainable quality-of-life services to and with the people of South Sudan by efficiently providing access to clean, safe water, and improving hygiene and sanitation practices in areas of great need.” This work is inspired by our study of Linda Sue Park's A Long Walk to Water. Over the past few years, we have raised enough money to help construct two new wells in remote areas of South Sudan.

Our goal this year is to raise $10,000.
