Over the last 26 years, the studio has remained diligent in following Linda's philosophy of teaching positively by encouragement-not discouragement; by building up-not tearing down; by appreciating each students talents and abilities individually; and by building students confidence and self-esteem through nurturing and drawing out the music within them. ine Street in Florence in 1989 and moved to its present location at 423 North Pine Street the following January. Originally offering private lessons in voice and piano, as well as preschool music classes, the studio has expanded to include acting, guitar, percussion, and most recently brass and woodwind instrumental instruction. In 2006, regular productions began by Young Music Theatre Workshop (YMTW), a musical theatre troupe of young people from the Shoals area directed by Linda and made up primarily of studio students, but open to everyone. Other periodic programs include Young Music Makers (YMM), a show choir group for elementary age children; Young Music Explorers (YME), classes for preschoolers; drama camps; and occasional workshops in various aspects of the arts.

Do you ever feel like you can’t multitask? We’ve all been there!! Did you know playing piano, which seems like it would be one task, actually requires multitasking? What’s even cooler than that, is the fact that everyone can learn to do it! Learning to play piano teaches you to be a better multitasker in other areas of life such as school, work, and home!! ❤️🎶

Just a little fun fact for your Monday morning. Learning to write musical symbols is hard, and learning to play an instrument is even harder! You can take comfort knowing that even the greatest of composers struggled, so don’t give up when learning gets tough. Instead, preserve, and know that you have an amazing talent waiting to surface! W E A R E B A C K!!!

We took a short unplug break to pray over this semester and our students! During this time, we had to make the hard decision to convert back, once again, to online instruction to ensure student and instructor safety. Please know our hearts our broken knowing we won’t get to see your sweet faces in person, and trust us, we were just as excited as you were! Although we are currently giving online lessons, our promise at Linda Young Music Studio is still to teach you to love music so you may have it to lean on! We need that now more than ever. Hang in there with us! We will see your smiling faces again.
