Florence Choirs

This past week, the Florence Choirs joined their voices with hundreds of students from around the state for two wonderful days of music under the direction of world-renowned guest clinicians Dr. Ryan Beeken, Dr. Reed Criddle, and Dr. Matthew Emery for the Southern Choral Invitational Conference (SICC), hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi School of Music.

These 16 young ladies represented Florence High School and Rankin County School District very well and proved themselves to be the highest caliber of human beings everywhere we went. We are so proud of them for exploring their love of music!

Earlier in September, the Florence Choirs had the incredible opportunity to take 24 students to the State Sings Mississippi State University Honor Choir—formerly known as Choral Colloquium!

Our students joined nearly 330 junior high and high school singers from across Mississippi. In just 24 hours, they worked with guest clinicians Vic Oakes and Dan Cater. learned several choral arrangements, and performed before a packed house on the second day. These students also sang alongside MSU college students and students from other choral programs statewide.

We are incredibly proud of how well our singers represented FHS and Rankin County School District! Special thanks to Mississippi State University for providing our students with this outstanding musical experience!
