✨ First Day Recap! ✨

And just like that… the 2026–2027 school year is officially underway! 💚💛✈️

What a day! New faces, familiar faces, lots of smiles, a few nerves, and SO much excitement filled the halls of Jones Middle School today. We are incredibly proud of the way our Jets showed up and started this year together.

Here’s to a year full of growth, learning, new opportunities, big dreams, and endless possibilities. We know there is a bright future ahead, and we can’t wait to see where this year takes us!

Thank you to our incredible staff, students, and families for helping us kick off an amazing year. The best is yet to come!

💚💛 What a GREAT Schedule Pick-Up Night, Jets! 💛💚

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out tonight! We loved seeing so many of our students, families, and community members and are so excited for another incredible year at Jones Middle School! ✈️

A very special shout-out to our amazing community partners who helped make tonight extra special:

💈 Nell’s Barber — thank you to the barbers who came out and helped our students get ready for the first day!
🚓 Kentucky State Police — thank you for bringing the In Plain Sight trailer and helping educate our parents.
🍧 Kona Ice — thank you for keeping everyone cool and bringing the smiles!
📚 Boone County Public Library — thank you for joining us and supporting our Jets and families!

We are so grateful for the community partnerships that make events like tonight possible. It truly takes a village, and we are thankful for each of you! 💚💛

We CANNOT WAIT to see everyone next Wednesday, August 19, for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! 🎉✈️

We have Open House tonight from 4 p- 7 p. It is a come and go event with many interest points.

We already have the “In Plain Sight” Trailer here! It is an educational display for 21 year old and older adults. It is also airconditioned.

You do not have to have a student at Jones to walk through the trailer!

Tonight is schedule pick up from 4-7! We will also have our title one meeting! Meet your teachers, get a back to school hair cut, practice lockers and more! We can't wait to see you!

Please join us this Thursday, August 13 for schedule pick up night! We will have our annual title one meeting, food trucks, haircuts, and an opportunity to meet your child's teachers!

Jones Middle School Library is partnering with Boone County Public Library for all students to receive a FREE BCPL digital library card (SDAC). This will allow students to access all of Boone County Public Library's digital services and will expire upon the student's graduation from high school. Physical collection items can not be accessed using the SDAC card. Your child will receive their SDAC information at school. You need not do anything for them to receive this digital library card. However, if you Do Not want your child to receive access you will need to fill out the Opt Out letter attached. These letters will be available to sign at Readifest on Aug. 13 from 4-7pm. If you Opt Out the form needs to be return to the school librarian no later than Friday, August 28th.

We need your help to support our students!

We didn't have much luck last school year so we are trying again!
We need new faces on the board so we don't have to close it down! We would hate to see the students lose all the exciting things we do throughout the year and the extra support we give to school during the year.
We need you to step up and make this your time to shine with us!!

Yearbooks will be available for pickup during Readifest on August 13, 2026, from 4-7PM in the gym. If you did not get a chance to pre-order, we do have some extras. The cost is $35. You can pay with cash or check made payable to Jones Middle School - earmarked yearbook.

Also, Boone County Public Library will have their book van at Readifest from 4-6:30 - get a free great read and find out all the great events happening at BCPL!
