πΏ Branching Out into Scientific Discovery! πΏ
During the spring semester, Dr. Sabrina Stanley partnered with UNA alumna Ms. Shanise Allen at R.E. Thompson Intermediate School to bring a hands-on leaf chromatography lesson to her 3rd-grade classroom.
Students stepped into the role of scientists as they predicted, measured, observed, recorded, and reflected while investigating the hidden pigments in leaves. Through chromatography, they discovered that leaves contain many colors beyond the green we see on the surface.
Experiences like this help spark curiosity and bring science to life through hands-on learning. ππ¬
