Join us after school next Thursday for a back to school bash at The Farm at Florence 1. All Florence 1 Schools students, families, and staff are welcome!

Drop in anytime between 4-7pm. Enjoy food samples from Chartwells K12, learn to make chocolate hummus, and discover all of the fun and learning that our students experience during Exploration Days at The Farm.

Raffle prizes include: 3 family kayak trips from our friends at RiverRat's Canoe Rentals, gift cards from our friends at Naturally Outdoors, a cookbook + pantry essentials, and more. We hope to see you there!

On August 4th, an electronic form was emailed to the parents and guardians of F1S Seniors who did not take a state-funded ACT or SAT last year.

To participate in make-up testing, forms must be submitted electronically or turned in to your child’s School Guidance Department by August 10th.

School is back in full swing, which means many fun and tasty things ahead in our Culinary Department! Check out the August 2026 Culinary Newsletter to see what students can expect to see soon in our cafeterias. Hint: Our first Harvest of the Month of the year is August 13th.

Dear Florence 1 Schools Parents and Guardians,
We recognize the concerns families may have regarding the number and weight of textbooks that our students are expected to carry. To help address this, Florence 1 Schools would like to share the following guidance regarding how textbooks will be used this school year.

📗For Middle School Students:
Textbooks stay at school: There will be occasional home use but textbooks will return to class the next day.

Digital access at home: Homework will mainly use digital textbooks through students’ Chromebooks.

🎒For Elementary School students
English Language Arts
Softback workbooks for students, typically sent home for practice.

Math
Consumable workbook pages are torn out and sent home with students for homework practice.

Chromebooks
Students will continue to bring Chromebooks home to charge and complete assignments as needed.

Science
Small workbooks are used during the school day.

Social Studies
K–3 will use consumable workbooks while grades 4–5 will have hardback textbooks but will utilize digital textbooks for homework.
