Attention, running friends:
Eagle Spirit 5K & Eagle Spirit Youth Fun Run Registration for Eagle Up Weekend on May 1. Race times are 8:00 a.m. (5K) and 9:00 (Fun Run).

The 5K will involve runners being showered with FHS school colors along the route to add to the fun! (You can opt out of that if that doesn't suit your fancy.)

The Fun Run will involve runners reaching school spirit stops at points along the route to have a true Eagle Spirit experience!

Early registration is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the Fun Run. Add $5 for registering/paying the day of the event.

Registration fee includes an event shirt, race awards for top performers, and entry to all Eagle Up Weekend festivities ($7 admission otherwise).

Freshman TEAM Academy Students of the Week: Gracie Jordan & Madelynn Stubbs

Gracie and Madelynn demonstrated the Foundational Value of Responsibility by spearheading our effort to create more activity on our social media platforms. Both of these young ladies are creative and have great ideas and information to share in class. Keep up the great work, Gracie and Madelynn!

Our last senior TEAM Academy senior to spotlight is Corey Smith. Corey is an extremely creative young man who combines technology with art to create all kinds of interesting digital characters and storylines. Corey will continue his education next year and I'm sure he'll continue to use his creative gifts on interesting projects. Congratulations, Corey! We are very proud of you!

The next senior TEAM Academy graduate that we will showcase is Emily Sebren. Emily has a lot of experience in the business world already, as she has worked in her family's restaurant business for years already! Emily will attend Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in the fall on academic scholarship. Congratulations, Emily! We are so proud of you!

Congratulations to Mandy Weathersby, Andrew White, and Ethan Woods for placing 2nd in the Spring Region 3 high school division of the Stock Market Game! The team had a return of 22.7% above the S&P 500. The participating in SMG in Mrs. Helms's 10th grade Academy class. We are so proud of you!!!

Our next senior TEAM Academy spotlight is Jessie Millette. Jessie is one of the most dependable people and is always willing to help and encourage! She is very creative and has used her talents for businesses in our TEAM Academy markets that we have done. She will continue her education and then plans to become a tattoo artist when she has completed her education. Congratulations, Jessie! We are so proud of you!

We have several spotlights from FHS this week! First of all, it is Administrative Professionals Week and we wouldn't know what to do if we didn't have our wonderful office and support staff: Mrs. Ira Williams, Mrs. Monica Howell, Ms. La'quinta Lewis, Ms. Vicki McNair, and Mrs. Starla Byrd keep FHS running smoothly! Thank you, ladies, for all you do!

FHS is also spotlighting two of our coaches who are tremendous assets to our sports programs and our classrooms! Coach Aaron Freeman is a rock star math teacher and is the head coach of our Lady Eagles Volleyball team.

Coach Josh Anderson is a member of our history department and is the head coach of our FHS Eagles Baseball team. Coach Anderson just earned his Master's degree this spring. Great job, Coach!

Thank you to each of these professionals for making FHS such a great place! We are so proud of you!
