Meet Michelle Killian, Fundraising Chair! She describes herself as a full-time chaos coordinator, snack distributor, chauffeur, and referee to two incredible tiny humans who prove every single day that siblings can be complete opposites. Her husband is the calm to her chaos (and still holds out hope that one day she’ll agree to actual camping… spoiler alert: we’re still glamping).

“Our kids have proudly been Scotties since Pre-K and keep us running between baseball diamonds in the spring and soccer fields in the fall. When I’m not coordinating everyone’s schedules or searching for someone’s missing cleat, you’ll usually find me with a good book, soaking up the sun by the water, or planning our next memory making adventure.”

“By day, I’m the Marketing Coordinator for Florence 1 Schools. I am honored to spend my days creating graphics and content, but my favorite part of the job is listening to the amazing stories that make our district special before bringing them to life through creative storytelling.”

There’s something special about hearing the halls of Lester filled with the joyful sounds of children once again! Our Scotties did an exceptional job this week practicing routines, procedures, and expectations while approaching each day with excitement, kindness, and a willingness to learn. We couldn’t be prouder of how they have started the year. If this first week is any indication, we're in for something truly spectacular!

We may be a little biased, but we truly believe our Scotties are the very best and that Lester might just be Florence’s best-kept secret. We’re so glad you’re part of the Scottie family and we geniunely feel lucky to be at Lester! Here's to a year filled with learning, laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories. 💙🐾

What a MAGNIFICENT day at Lester! 💙🐾

Today our halls were once again filled with the laughter, love, and excitement of our Scotties, and what a beautiful sight it was! Our students walked in like seasoned pros, confidently navigating their day with smiles, kindness, and independence. It's that confidence, and the incredible culture we've built together, that makes Lester such a special place.

We are so happy to have our Scotties back where they belong!

We have LOTS more first-day photos to share, but this leadership team is calling it a night because we are tired in the best possible way! 😴 Here's to the start of another stupendous year of learning, growing, and making memories! Let's do it all again tomorrow!

🕢 Students must be in their classrooms by 7:45 a.m. Students arriving after 7:45 a.m. will be considered tardy and must be signed in by a parent or guardian. A valid ID is required.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and welcome new Scottie families to Lester! We enjoyed sharing information about our Title I program, our goals for the school year, and the many ways families can partner with us to help every child succeed. 📚
