Childrens Garden is more than a childcare center—we are a nonprofit created to meet a critical need in Carroll County. When we began this work, our county ranked 91st out of Indiana’s 92 counties for access to accredited childcare.

Today, more than half of the children we serve receive tuition support, allowing local families to access the safe, high-quality early education every child deserves. Community donations help make that possible. 🌱

A gift of $15 may feel small, but together, your gifts help sustain classrooms, support teachers, and keep quality childcare within reach for local families. Can you donate $15 today? đź’š

We currently have openings in our infant room! 🌱

At Childrens Garden, infants are cared for in a safe, warm, and loving environment where each child’s individual needs and development are thoughtfully supported. Through nurturing relationships, sensory exploration, movement, stories, music, and play, our teachers help little ones feel secure as they begin discovering the world around them.

If you are looking for infant care, we would love to tell you more about our program and help you explore whether Childrens Garden is the right fit for your family. Contact us to learn more or schedule a visit!

Little bodies are made to move! Balancing, reaching, tossing, and pretending build coordination, confidence, and self-control. The best early learning often looks like joyful play—because that is how young children are designed to learn.

We have exciting news to share! 🎉

Childrens Garden has been selected as one of ten Carroll County nonprofits to receive an Impact Grant from the Carroll County Community Foundation. This funding will support improvements to our facility and help provide tuition assistance for families who may otherwise struggle to afford high-quality childcare.

We are grateful to the Community Foundation and Lilly Endowment for investing in the future of Carroll County’s children and families—and for believing in what we are building together at Childrens Garden.

This generous support will help us welcome more children, strengthen the care we provide, and continue making high-quality early childhood education accessible to families throughout our community. 🌱

Our September theme is Community Helpers, and dress-up clothes have been a huge hit in our classrooms! We would especially love community-helper costumes—such as firefighters, farmers, doctors, and construction workers—as well as imaginative options like dinosaurs or astronauts for future themes. We kindly ask that donated dress-up items not feature Disney or other commercial characters.

With colder weather just around the corner, we are also collecting little-kid gloves, hats, and snow boots. Clothing sizes range from infant 6–12 months through 2T–5T, as well as children’s XS and S. Shoe sizes range from little kid 3–7.

Other current needs include board books, sensory chewing toys, and apples, pumpkins, or corn on the cob for next month’s classroom experiences. Monetary gifts are always welcome, too, and allow us to purchase exactly what our classrooms need most.

What does it take to help a community thrive? 🌻

This month at Childrens Garden, children are finding out through our Community Helpers theme! 🚔🩺📬

They’re learning about the many people who care for our neighbors, keep us safe, provide important services, and make our community a better place to live.

The theme comes to life through ten interest areas in each classroom, thoughtfully designed around Indiana’s standards for early learning environments.

From art and books to building, movement, and dramatic play, children can explore the theme from every angle—creating, investigating, practicing new skills, and learning through play along the way. ✨
