We’re excited to be competing on our home turf this weekend! 🤖🐝💛💙

Kearsley is hosting a FIRST Robotics Competition at the Community Recreation Center, and 41 teams— including us, Team 5150 Hybrid Hornets—will compete.

Come cheer us on and see STEM in action! The event is free, family-friendly, and full of energy. We’d love to see our community there supporting us!

Did you know? Kearsley High School will be hosting 41 robotics teams for a FIRST Robotics Competition in Michigan!

We’re incredibly excited and need your help to make the event a success. We are currently seeking VOLUNTEER JUDGES to interview student teams and help celebrate their hard work and innovation.

✅ No previous robotics experience required
✅ Training and materials will be provided
✅ A great way to support students and STEM in our community

Calling for Volunteers – Kearsley FIM District Event (Week 3)

The Kearsley District Event is happening March 21–22 at Kearsley High School (Flint), and we’re looking for volunteers to help support an exciting FIRST Robotics Competition—our first at this new venue!

There are technical and non-technical roles available, and volunteers can be team members, mentors, parents, sponsors, or community supporters.

👉 How to Apply to Volunteer
1. Log in to, or create, your FIRST Account at http://my.firstinspires.org/Dashboard/

2. Click the Volunteer Registration tab and select Event Volunteering

3. Filter by program (FIRST Robotics Competition) and enter the state name (e.g., Michigan)

4. Select Kearsley District Event

5. Choose your preferred role(s), or select Assign as Needed

6. Complete the FIRST HQ Consent/Release Form (signed electronically once per season)

7. Complete the FIRST Youth Protection background screening (free and renewed every 4 years) If an update is needed, follow the links in your FIRST Account under Youth Protection Screening. Most screenings are completed within a few business days
