On June 20, the Flint Cultural Center hosted the 54th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, which was organized by the Traditional Flint Juneteenth committee members. With a Freedom March led by Hamady Middle/High School Marching Band. The free event took place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and included live music, food trucks, vendors, children’s activities and cultural programming.

The Freedom March event featured performances by Jawanne Carrigan, Gwen Hemphill, The Eclipse Band, Mama Sol and a Battle of the Line Dancers. Activities included arts and crafts, face painting, book giveaways, balloon art, bounce houses, local vendors and food trucks.

The Hawks showed up and showed out once again!

Proud of our Hamady High School Marching Band for representing our school and community at the Flint Juneteenth Parade. Today was more than a parade, it was a celebration of culture, history, and unity.

So many Hawks. One powerful sound. One proud tradition.
