Westwood Heights, stand UP! Our Blue Thunder Drumline showed OUT this past weekend at Chandler Park Academy’s St. Patrick’s Day Jamboree & Drumline Competition — and they brought home a 2nd Place WIN! 💙⚡️
From the first beat to the final cadence, our students delivered a high‑energy, crowd‑shaking performance that lit up the entire event. Their skill, discipline, and pure passion were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder!

This Saturday, March 14th, the Hamady High School "Blue Thunder" Drumline is taking the floor at the Annual St. Patrick’s Weekend Marching Band Jamboree! 🔥

Our line has been putting in the work, and now it’s time to show the state what Hamady pride sounds like. We aren't just showing up—we’re coming to take over the gym!

Get there early to grab a seat in the Hamady section! We need the Hawk Family loud and proud in the stands.

The Westwood Heights School District Board of Education proudly welcomes Javon Luckett as our Student Representative for the 2025–2026 school year. Javon is a junior at Hamady High School, serving as Junior Class President, Student Council member, and Drum Major for the Hamady Hawks Marching Band. He is also active in the Alpha Esquires Leadership Program and PBIS Committee. Javon is committed to being a safe contact for student concerns and advocating for positive change and student welfare. Please join us in congratulating Javon on this important role!

Due to the weather forecast, our Holiday Concert has been rescheduled to tomorrow, December 18th at 5:00 PM, instead of Friday. The concert will take place in the Middle/High School Auditorium.

The evening will feature performances by our Beginning Band, Advanced Band, and Violin Students!

A Very Hamady Holiday Door Decorating Contest Please vote for 1 high school and 1 middle school Advisory class to win our holiday door decorating contest. Winning classes will receive a prize on Friday, December 19th. Voting will end Thursday morning at 8:00am.

This week has been crazy🫨🤯 We started the week on Monday with The Mayor stopping by the school to rehearse with our Drumline for their performance during his State of the City Address on Tuesday. Tuesday we had the privilege of being escorted into the Capitol theatre thru the backstage doors and taken to the Capitol club for refreshments prior to performing. After our performance We had to rush over to the Mayfair Bible Church to catch the Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble’s Holiday Delights Concert where half of the proceeds that were raised were donated to our Band program. We then ended the week by having Dr. Virgil Goodwine stop by the school to discuss the opportunities band provides and the opportunities Wilberforce University can offer. THEN he offered multiple scholarships to students in our program. God definitely tripped this week and we are extremely grateful to have these opportunities for our kids.
