The Pre-College Portfolio Development program is a multi-semester course of study that provides serious high school artists with college-level studio arts instruction. The nine ten-week studio courses systematically cover those skills and ideas necessary to create a successful college art application. In addition to the development of studio skills, students and families are provided art-specific college counseling which focuses on art programs and individual student interests.

The Pre-College Portfolio Development program at the FIA Art School is doing some great work! The student exhibition is open now and the reception is this evening at 5p. Stop by and see their amazing work!

The Flint Institute of Arts and world-renowned artist Yigal Ozeri are partnering for a photorealism workshop from 12:00p-6:00p December 14-16. Participants should have experience painting realistically. Cost is $450 per person and includes most supplies. Space is limited. Registration opens November 15 at 10:00a online (link in bio) or by calling 810.237.7315.

The workshop in the FIA Art School will provide participants with an exciting, hands-on experience that will cover Ozeri's approach to translating photographic images into original works of art. Using carefully selected photographs provided by the instructor, students will work on their own paintings with instruction and feedback from Ozeri.

Ozeri is a New York-based Israeli artist best-known for his large-scale, cinematic portraits of distinctive young women in rich, prodigious landscapes. Ozeri's exhibition, Brush With Reality, is on view in the FIA galleries through January 2, 2022.
