In honor of Black History Month, we acknowledge Tenesa Thompson, the Director of Family and Community Engagement at Voices for Children Advocacy Center. With a keen focus on the prevention of child abuse, she plays a pivotal role in educating the community, caregivers, and children about this crucial issue. Her impact is evident through the successful implementation of the ROAR program in Genesee and Shiawassee Schools and her pivotal role in establishing the Voices for Children's Family Resource Center.

In honor of Black History Month, we acknowledge Claudnyse D. Holloman, the President & CEO of Voices for Children Advocacy Center, where her focus is on helping children and families who have been victims of child abuse, neglect, and human trafficking. She is a dedicated advocate for the well-being of children and has actively worked to expand services and improve laws for child survivors, solidifying Voices for Children Advocacy Center as a leading organization in the Mid-Michigan area.

In honor of Black History Month, we acknowledge Leon El-Alamin, the founder and Executive Director of the M.A.D.E. Institute. His organization’s mission is to provide transitional housing and comprehensive programming for at-risk youth and returning citizens through workforce development, social advocacy, urban farming, training and research, and violence prevention.

In honor of Black History Month, we acknowledge Necole Hayes, the Executive Director of Motherly Intercession. At Motherly Intercession, she is able to help facilitate change through their many programs for children and families impacted by incarceration. In her tenure as Executive Director, she has collaborated with her staff to create a fatherhood education program, family engagement program, men and women social connections support group, and a support group for middle and high school aged youth called Speak N Listen.
