Our students have been engaged in learning about climate change over the last several weeks. As customary with Mr. Andrew, the learning has been incredibly thoughtful and deep. Students have reflected on their learning and have identified ways for our classroom to become more environmentally friendly (which we have since incorporated, willingly) and they are creating specific proposals for their own homes and families.

Today, we are fortunate to have Dr. Brian Beckage join us from UVM. Our students have very specific questions for Dr. Beckage (hope he is ready!) and he will also provide us with some insight as we culminate our climate change unit on a hike up to Sterling Pond next week...

We have CANCELLED our Open House for this Saturday. If you were planning on attending and would still like to come visit, please contact us! We have 16 days left of school and we would love for you to tour our classroom and meet with Mr. Andrew!

We will still be hosting our OBSERVATION morning on Thursday May 25th!

Teacher Appreciation is a time for parents, families and students to reflect on the impact our teachers have in our lives (not just our students!)...

Amazing things happen every single day and most are unspoken or overlooked...

We have created a Gratitude Tree in our classroom and here is just a sampling of what our students appreciate about Mr. Andrew. Students add to it daily throughout the week. Next week, separate tree for Ms. Chelsea! 🌟

As you look towards next year with your student(s), what are their academic and social goals? What are your goals for them? Are you able to be a part of that plan and work with your student(s) teacher on those goals (now? over the summer? starting on day 1 of school?). Do you feel like you have lost ground -- or touch -- with your child's education?

If you feel like you may want to explore an alternative learning environment and feel more connected; come learn more about IMAGINE. We are intentionally small, purposefully personalized and set high behavioral and academic expectations for our students -- because each student is capable.

We know families are busy with spring sports, so we are hoping these OPEN HOUSE options will give your family some flexibility~

Monday May 8th; 5:00-7:00 PM
Tuesday May 16th; 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Saturday May 20th; 9:00 - 8:00 AM

Observation Morning (come see our multi-age classroom seamlessly in session) on Thursday May 25th from 8:45-10:00; then have the opportunity to meet with our lead Teacher and Director of Curriculum, Mr. Andrew.

We have a few more openings!

IMAGINE SCHOOL HOUSE is hosting 2 Summer Camps during the week of July 10-14th! The cost is $180/per student. You must register before 7/1. Summer Camps will be held at our school location in Fairfax/Fletcher area.

Outdoors - Fun - Academically Based - Hands On - Active

Andrew Fersch, our Lead Teacher and Director of Curriculum, will be leading an Adventure and Writing summer camp. Participants will spend the week in the woods (on the property), building a structure and learning about the natural world around them. They will also spend time writing about the natural world, honing their skills using the literary elements that make writing so powerful. Additionally, they'll be hiking, running around, building, and exploring! Ideal ages are 9-13. *Mr. Andrew is an avid writer having penned 3 Children's books; donating more than 3,000 to date!

Chelsea Steinauer-Scudder will be leading a Music, Dancing and Art camp - where younger children will sing and dance, create beautiful art, and spend time in nature as well. They'll learn valuable art skills while having a magical time! Ideal ages are 6-10.

Grammy-award winning artist Thirza Defoe is a multidisciplinary artist from the Ojibwe and Oneida Tribes. Her performance at the festival mesmerizes the crow...

What an amazing night to camp out! Yahoo! With some strategies learned from Mr. Alex, we participated in a "Survival Outdoor Night"...we started with rain and by 8pm, we had a steady snow! Our base camp was warm and the stories were great!

We created memories to last a lifetime and our students are (rightfully) feeling empowered today! What a great group of kids, parents and teachers-- thank you!

Yes, it is true! IMAGINE will be hosting 1 Summer Camp this summer during the week of July 10-14!

Ms. Chelsea will be hosting an Art & Nature Camp geared for younger students and Mr. Andrew will be hosting an Adventure Writing Camp for older students!

We will be posting Enrollment for our Camps within the week. Keep your eyes open! :)
