Another large crawlspace project in the books. This was another house for sale in Asheville with high wood-moisture content in the substructure and an extremely musty smell on the lower level overall. This project needed a full encapsulation in (2) crawlspaces with an independent dehumidifier in each. We extended the fresh air intake for the gas furnace through to the exterior to as a safety measure and had new outlets installed by a licensed electrician. We also replaced a deck post that was being fed on by termites with a new footing to eliminate the wood to ground contact and removed the copycat bait system and installed the Sentricon Colony Elimination System for long term control.

This house was sold pending inspection. The seller wanted to correct the crawlspace conditions as cost effectively as possible. Unfortunately, there was no cheap fix. It needed a complete do-over to correct the extremely high moisture and organic growth. This is an expensive process. The seller decided not to pass the problem onto the buyer, and Started at the Top to get the job done in under a week. My crew even brought their own microwave and hot plate to the site to get it completed in 2.5 days. We installed the dehumidifier with a splitter to circulate air into the areas of extreme low clearance as well as the partial basement. The Summit office will be closed beginning tomorrow July 28 through Friday to attend the NPMA Mid-Atlantic Conference in Charleston. We will return to normal hours on Monday August 3rd at 8am. When stinging insect nests are located on or around koi ponds, what chemical is safe? Answer: none of them. We broke out the shop vac, threw on our bee suit, and vacuumed up a large yellow jacket nest for this client in Mills River to insure that no harm would come to their beautiful pets. Got a bug problem? We have the solutions!! Start at the Top!!
