Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church is offering six music scholarships, three for piano lessons and three for voice lessons, beginning in March. I will be teaching piano, and Barbie Zweigart will be teaching voice. This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill in 2023! 🎶

Each scholarship of $100, will cover all lesson materials needed for one year of FREE piano or voice leasons. If you have any questions, you can contact me here or contact Barbie Zweigart at the number below.

I’m still working on my fall/winter schedule for students, but I hope to have it completed by the end of this month. As many of you know I’ve been dealing with complications from emergency surgery immediately followed by COVID, which has put me behind.

I know I have several people on my wait list, and I will be contacting you all before the first of October to let you know what available spots I may have. If you’re currently a student or a parent of a student and we haven’t already talked, please let me know if your regular time slot still works for you. If you took off for summer break and will not be returning to lessons, please let me know, as I have several waiting for an opening.

Thank you all for your patience with me. This has been a frustrating and discouraging last five weeks, with good days and bad days, but I hope the good days win out eventually. I appreciate your prayers and thoughts, calls, and texts. I look forward to being back in full swing soon!

Last minute reminder that some of my students will be having a piano recital tomorrow afternoon, November 14th, at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church. I’m so excited to finally get to have a recital for them after being derailed by COVID for the last almost two years! They have worked hard, and I am so proud of them. I look forward to seeing everyone there to support them.

Happy Tuesday to everyone! I hope all my students and their families have had a wonderful summer break. I know I have, although it seems like I was just picking my daughter up from her last day of school, and here we are ready to start back. Piano lessons are starting back too, for those of you who took a break from that as well as school, and I’m really looking forward to having everyone back!

The fall semester lessons started back this week, although due to the increase in covid cases in Fleming County, not all of my students were able to begin yesterday. At this point, lessons will continue as usual. I have been fully vaccinated, but if you would feel safer having your child wear a mask, or if any of my adult students choose to wear one, that is fine. I will leave it up to each individual family to make their own decision on that point. If you want me to wear a mask during your or your child’s lesson time, just let me know, and I will do so. It is my hope that I will be able to continue lessons uninterrupted throughout the coming year. Unfortunately, we all know by now that there could be times when that becomes impossible due to an increase in covid cases, or because of government mandates, but at this time it’s business as usual. 😊

I currently have everyone still set for their most recent lesson day and time. Should you need to schedule a different time slot, please let me know as soon as possible. I have a couple of open spots, so I should be able to work with you to find a day and time that suits you best.

Speaking of schedules, please let me know if your child has additional extracurricular activities that may include Sundays. Since we haven’t been able to have a recital for almost two years, I intend to have one this semester, and I hope I can find a date that will allow everyone to participate. Sunday afternoons seem to be the best time for most of us, so I’m particularly interested in any conflicting activities that may fall on that day throughout the fall semester.

I look forward to seeing everyone back, and I hope my students are rested and ready to jump back into playing!

There will be no piano lessons this week due to the anticipated winter storm. I will be in touch with each student or parent to set makeup lessons once we see what Mother Nature has in store for the end of the week. Stay safe, warm, and healthy, and keep practicing! 😊 🎹

I'm working on my fall schedule this week since the kids are back in school. If you or your child took a summer break, please let me know if you plan on returning to lessons this month. If so, please let me know as soon as you can if you need to change your lesson day or time.

Once all of my returning students are accounted for, I will know if I have any additional spots available for new students. Please contact me here or on Facebook Messenger if you or your child is interested in taking piano lessons. I keep a waiting list as well, and if you'd like to be placed on it, just let me know.

It's been a crazy past five months, but I'm hoping we can all get back to some semblance of routine now. As always, thank you for allowing me to teach you or your child.

Hello to all my piano students! It seems like forever since I last saw you, and I’m hoping you’re all ready to start back soon.

I plan to resume teaching on June 1st for any of you who want to take summer lessons. I know many of you take summers off, and that is fine. However, I’ll be open for business as usual throughout the summer this year if you want to start back earlier due to the time lost due to COVID -19.

Please let me know if you will be resuming your lessons in June, or if waiting till September is better for you. If any of you need to look at schedule changes, we can discuss once I know what students will be returning for the summer.

After thinking long and hard about whether or not I will continue to give piano lessons during the next three weeks of school closures, and after getting the opinion of someone who works in the health field, I feel the most responsible thing to do is cancel lessons this week and reevaluate at that time how to proceed going forward.

We’re all healthy here currently, and I hope all my students are as well. Let’s just ride this situation out for this week at least, and hopefully be able to resume normal lessons next week.

In the meantime, stay healthy, enjoy family time, and play piano whenever you get a chance. Music makes everything better!

Hey piano families and friends! If you happen to get a free moment, I’d appreciate it if you could leave a short review of how you feel I’m doing with teaching you (for my teens and adult students) or your kids to play piano. If you’ve already left a review, thank you, and you can ignore this messsge. 😊

I know I’m thoroughly enjoying working with each and every one of my students. You can’t imagine the happiness and pride I feel every week as I see them progress in their abilities! Even more, I can see how happy and proud they are of themselves, which is the most important thing.

Thank you, parents, for entrusting your children to me once a week, and thanks to my adult students for believing it’s never too late to learn a new skill.

You all bring me joy.

It’s that time of year again...summer break is almost over, and I can’t wait to see all my students who took a break from lessons as well as school, back at my piano learning even more awesome music! I’ve missed you guys!!!

Even though school doesn’t start till Thursday, August 8th, I’ll be able to start on Monday the 5th for those who want to get an early start. If you want to squeeze one more week out of your piano break, you can wait to start back on Monday, August 12th. Just let me know which suits you better.

If there are changes that need to be made to your current lesson time slots, please let me know as soon as possible. I’ll be happy to work with you as best I can to accommodate any revisions necessary. Likewise, if anyone isn’t going to be able to continue lessons at this time, let me know promptly, as I have a waiting list of folks to contact should a spot become available.
