The annual Tractor Parade was held yesterday and our students enjoyed a beautiful fall afternoon outside. Several of our students participated in the parade and our kids running for student government also used the opportunity to share their posters getting lots of cheers from the crowd.

Miss Kentucky, Reagan Earlywine, visited Simons Middle School yesterday as part of Agricultural Education Week. She spoke about being a supporter of Kentucky Proud and the work she does as Miss Kentucky. A resident of Bourbon County and graduate of the University of Louisville, Miss Earlywine is currently taking off a year from dental school to fulfill her duties as Miss Ky. She shared a wonderful message with students about her platform of oral health, nutrition and overall wellness. While at SMS, she also judged a poster competition with the Purple Parrots taking first place. However, she adored the posted made by the Red Jaguars students so much that she asked if she could take it home to share with her family. The students had personalized it with her last name and the county of her residence.

She returned to SMS after the parade for fist bump Friday.

💛🖤What a week to wrap up before Fall Break! 🖤💛

It's been a busy and exciting week at Simons Middle School! Our Cougars participated in our first Morning Meeting featuring Song Trivia, our annual Student Scavenger Hunt, and Ag Education Safety Day!

We wrapped up the week with two of our favorite traditions, the annual Tractor Parade and High Five and Fist Bump Friday, featuring our special guest, Miss Kentucky! 🚜👑

🍂 Fall Break is October 12–16! We hope all of our Cougar families have a safe and relaxing week off!

Rest up, Cougars! We've got work to do before Christmas Break! 💪

Join our IMPACT Leadership 8th graders in their partnership with University of Kentucky Dance Blue for the first-ever SMS Dance Blue Mini Marathon! 💙💛🖤💛

Monday, November 16th from 1-5 pm @ Simons Middle School

We are so excited for this student-ran philanthropy! (Peep the student hype video!)

Community support is much needed and greatly appreciated. Students have a goal of raising $3500 for this year's event...we are looking forward to taking our financial contribution to the UK Children's Hospital. Who wants to join our efforts?!

Simons Middle School students will be out and about in downtown Flemingsburg on Thursday, October 8, for our annual Blitz Day Scavenger Hunt! Groups will be downtown from 9:30–11:00 AM and 12:45–2:15 PM.

Please slow down, use extra caution near crosswalks, and watch for students and staff.

Congratulations to our Academic team JV and Varsity Quick Recall teams on their outstanding victories tonight at Bath County!

Our Varsity team secured a 16–9 victory, while our JV team earned an impressive 31–14 win.

We would also like to recognize and celebrate the students who represented our school tonight:

Daisy Covert, Ava Emerson, Abe Fritz, Jackson Hamm, Shelby Hinton, Branson Miller, and Polly Roberts.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, knowledge, and teamwork these students demonstrated. Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic night of competition!

Perfect Squares Club celebration for 129 of our 8th graders! We are so proud of our students!
Many thanks to Ray and his team at Giovanni's Pizza of Flemingsburg, KY for their hospitality and delicious lunch. It was great to see Chamber Director Vice stop by to say hi, too.
Ask an 8th grader what it took to earn their spot in the club. This year has been our most successful club to date!
