IT’S OFFICIAL: BCHS BAND BISTRO NIGHT IS COMING!

The band is taking over the BrAXton Bistro for a night of good food, community, and BCHS Band pride!

Join us for the very first BCHS Band Bistro Night on Saturday, August 22nd from 4:00–10:00 PM at the BrAXton Bistro.

What makes this night different? Our band students will be the ones serving YOU! Students will be greeting guests, taking orders, running food, bussing tables, and helping make the evening happen while the Bistro’s kitchen team handles the cooking.

And, of course, there will be a special BCHS Band Bistro Night menu featuring marching band and Eagles-inspired meal names you’ll have to see for yourself!

Even better, 10% of all sales and 100% of all tips from the evening will go directly to support the BCHS Band.

We’re hoping to make this the beginning of a new annual tradition for our band and our community, so mark your calendars and plan to join us for dinner!

Reservations are not required, but recommended by messaging the The Braxton Bistro page!

LAST DAY = BEST DAY!

Our LAST day of band camp, and our seniors are soaking in every single second. Literally! 😂

To celebrate their final day of camp EVER as BCHS students (and, of course, to get in one last prank on Mrs. High), our seniors decided to camp out in the bowl and prepare for their last day of band camp.

Mrs. High was pleasantly surprised to pull up this morning to find her seniors "fast asleep" and packed into a tent! 😂

We love our seniors more than they know, and we are so proud of everything they have accomplished this week. We can't wait to celebrate them and our entire band family tonight at our Family Showcase at 5:00 PM!

The Pride of Braxton County has been working incredibly hard over the last several days, and this morning they had the opportunity to showcase that hard work for some very special guests.

We were honored to welcome our Principal, Mrs. Nettles, Assistant Principal Mrs. Hickman, Superintendent Dr. Burge-Tetrick, and Director of Human Resources and School Safety, Ms. Melissa Adkins, to watch our students perform.

It is not every day (if ever) that an entire district leadership team takes time out of their busy schedules to visit a band rehearsal. Their presence spoke volumes to our students. It showed them that their hard work matters, that the arts matter, and that they are supported from the classroom all the way to the Board Office.

We are beyond grateful for administrators who believe in our students and invest their time in encouraging them. Their kind words and support meant more than they know.

Braxton County... get ready. The Pride of Braxton County is working hard, and we cannot wait to share this year's show with you! 💚💛

BCHS Band Family,

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to help our neighbors affected by the devastating flooding in Upshur and Lewis Counties. Your generosity is already making a difference.

This week, we were able to deliver an entire van load of supplies, including:

• Over 130 cans of food
• Over 600 hygiene products, including toothpaste, shampoo, and conditioner
• Over 300 diapers and 20 packs of wipes
• Over 100 bookbags
• 200 trash bags
• 20 bottles of cleaning supplies
• 6 cases of water
• 2 cases of Gatorade
• And so much more

But the need is far from over.

We will continue collecting donations throughout next week and will make another drop-off to help provide supplies where they are needed most.

Right now, we have been told there is a great need for:

• Dehumidifiers
• Large fans
• Buckets
• Cleaning solutions
• Power washers
• Water hoses
• Baby diapers
• Clothing
• Laundry detergent
• Feminine hygiene products
• Extension cords
• Squeegees, mops, push brooms, and other large cleaning supplies

If you are able to donate, please consider helping us fill the gaps with these much-needed items. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can help a family begin the long process of cleaning up and rebuilding.

One important request: When dropping off donations, please have an exact count of the items you are bringing. This helps relief organizers keep accurate track of what has been received and, more importantly, what is still needed.

Thank you for continuing to show up for our neighbors. Please keep the families and communities impacted by these floods in your thoughts and prayers, and if you can help, now is the time.
