Congratulations to all of the outstanding Downriver Career Technical Consortium (DCTC) students who were recognized at the DCTC Student Awards Ceremony on May 19!

These students have demonstrated exceptional dedication to Career and Technical Education, investing countless hours into developing the knowledge, skills, and professionalism that will serve them well in their future careers. Their commitment to learning, leadership, and personal growth is something to be celebrated.

A special thank you goes to the teachers who nominated these deserving students and to the administrators who attended the ceremony to support and recognize their achievements. Your encouragement and belief in our students help make their success possible.

We would also like to congratulate Chef Katie Agacinski on being named DCTC Teacher of the Year! This recognition is a testament to her passion for education, dedication to the culinary arts, and the positive impact she makes in her students’ lives every day.

We are incredibly proud of all of our award recipients and wish them continued success as they pursue their educational and career goals. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!

Interested in learning about the skilled trades? This summer opportunity could be a great way to get started!

Build MI Future Summer Camp is a hands-on Carpenter Camp designed for middle and high school students.

During the camp, you will:

-Learn the basics of carpentry
-Gain hands-on building experience
-Explore career opportunities in the skilled trades

Please note that students will be required to complete an interview as part of the selection process to determine participation in the program.

Being inducted into NTHS is a reflection of the hard work, perseverance, and professionalism these students bring to our program and our Downriver schools. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and excited to see the impact they will make in our community.

On Tuesday 3/3/26 DCTC Students from RCHS, SAHS and GIHS, competed at the Michigan ProStart Invitational in the Culinary Competition. They were challenged with making a 3-course menu including an appetizer, entree and dessert. Their menu included an endive salad, pistachio crusted lamb chop and a chocolate & beet sponge cake. They earned the first-place spot and were not only awarded scholarships but are now headed to Baltimore to compete in the National ProStart Invitational. This is Riverview's first time winning this category since the invitational started almost 24 years ago.

On Monday 3/2/26 DCTC Students from RCHS and GIHS competed at the Michigan ProStart Invitational in the Pasta Category. They were challenged with creating a pasta dish with a mother sauce-based sauce and appropriate accompaniments. Their menu included a semolina garganelli with sauteed pancetta, fennel and peas served with a bechamel based palomino sauce. This is Riverview's second time placing in the top 5 teams since this category since it began 3 years ago.
