Today started our After-School Raised Garden Bed Workshop!!

Flat Lick Elementary students will participate in an after-school Raised Garden Bed Workshop led by Mrs. Murphy and KCHS FFA Vice President, Cadee Murphy for the next couple of weeks. Students will learn how to build affordable, DIY raised garden beds, when to plant various seeds, and how to properly care for a raised garden. These hands-on learning experiences promote gardening skills, environmental awareness, and an understanding of plant growth. Flat Lick Elementary also has a greenhouse and raised garden bed purchased by Partners for Rural Impact (PRI) last year, providing students with ongoing opportunities to apply their knowledge through hands-on gardening activities. Thank you to our FSCS Coordinator, Paula Miracle for arranging this workshop for our students!
