15U team took third place at the Marine League Charities Summer Classic
Varsity team took first place at the Marine League Charities Summer Classic
AZ XPLOSION had a great weekend in Flagstaff, AZ. 17 players and their families traveled up north to compete in the Marine League Charities Summer Classic. The 15u team showed great improvement over the weekend by taking 3rd place. The 15u team had 6 players who were competing in their first or second ever club basketball tournament. Some of our seasoned players on that team showed incredible growth. Logan, Jason, and Marshall displayed how their hard work is starting to pay off. All 3 began to show the needed leadership skills to be a successful student athlete.
The Varsity team went undefeated this weekend and won the championship Sunday afternoon ( ). The Varsity team faced adversity and handled their success with maturity and mental toughness. I have had the opportunity to watch some of the varsity players mature and grow into fine young men. All of the Varsity players are fierce competitors and great role models for our younger players. They will achieve great things this season at Ironwood.
Finally, thank you to all of the parents for their support of both teams. It was great to see 15u families staying later to watch our varsity team play in the championship.
Thank You,
Coach Morris
