Knoles Elementary proudly recognized Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month by wearing blue on Tuesday and celebrating inclusion all month long 💙
Our Knoles Knights had many opportunities to learn about autism through engaging, student-led activities. Our Beacon students played a special role in leading and participating throughout the month. On Talker Tuesdays, students using AAC devices shared morning announcements, giving everyone a chance to hear their voices.
During our Autism Acceptance Assembly Gallery Walk, Beacon students showcased projects they’ve been working on and interacted with K–5 classes using AAC. Classrooms also participated in autism presentations led by our social work interns, creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn and ask questions.
Mrs. Newgard’s class had a special guest who presented his personal experience with Autism. This gave our 2nd grade students a chance to ask questions and learn more about his world.
Mr. Field’s 5th grade class spent time learning alongside students in a Beacon classroom, building connections and understanding through shared experiences.
To wrap up the month, we look forward to our annual Glow Party—a family engagement event designed with smaller crowds and sensory-friendly activities to celebrate students receiving additional supports.
At Knoles, inclusion is something we practice every day. From field trips and reverse inclusion opportunities to weekly movie showings hosted by a Beacon student, we are committed to creating a welcoming environment for all learners.

Our lost and found is overflowing so much the fire marshal told us we need to clean it out. Please look through the belongings for items belonging to your kiddos. All items will be donated after Friday, March 27th.
