Had a blast working with the mighty and powerful on some skills a couple weeks ago. She has a unique talent in being able to take in feedback and quickly turn it into results. π€
Using .bike instruction techniques, we improved cornering, climbing, roll downs and drops.
A single clinic typically won't allow you to master a skill, but now she can practice with intent.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to host Kids Camp again.
This is a great option for Mom or Dad who want to race. We keep the kids engaged with bike games and other shenanigans.
This year it was a little warm, so we had a couple of sq**rt gun fights added to the curriculum to help keep campers cool. They enjoyed my younger son Bryson so much that they chased him around with the cooler, trying to soak him. π
I came up with three reasons why you shouldn't attend the .bike Coaches Convention, March 27-29th at . If you're on the fence, maybe this will help you decide not to go. π

I had the pleasure to work with an 8-year-old boy this morning who had not yet learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. Within 15 minutes he was coasting, and within 30 he was pedaling. It's so fun to see that discovery happen for the first time in kids or adults.
The best part was this: at one point he figured out that momentum was his friend, so he pedaled about 150 yards across a section of the park, faster than he had the whole morning.
Me:
"That was amazing! Look how far you went! You know how long that would have taken if we were walking? That's why bikes are cool."
Him:
"Yeah!"
(Turns his head and spots his mom across the park)
"HEY MOM! IN YOUR FACE! YOU'RE WALKING!"

Clearly this is a ridiculous AI generated image. I'm not even sure where the left crank went. π

Well, not quite the start to the 2025 enduro season I was hoping for, but at least I stuck it out!
I was having a pretty smooth run down stage 1, until I clipped a stump that violently ejected me to the ground, just a few moments before the finish line.
I was left with a broken crank, sore neck and the thought that I was done for the whole race.
Fortunately my friend encouraged me to swap cranks off his bike and get back into it.
So after some crank surgery in the parking lot, that's just what I did. I was in survival mode the rest of the race, just wanting to finish without anymore crazy incidents.
Just missed the podium by about 30 seconds, which I guess isn't too bad, all things considered.
Let's hope the next race goes a little bit smoother!
Thanks to:
for making a rad bike
for keeping the squishy bits running smooth
for awesome stoppers
for making a carbon crank that can take some amazing abuse
for making a pedal that will break the crank before breaking the pedal
for dope π·
