Our mission at NAAWiSTEM is to provide women at Northern Arizona University and women in the community pursuing science related career and degree with community and support. Further, we aim to help prepare women in the scientific community to become effective leaders by increasing involvement, knowledge and professionalism in STEM fields.

The black hole image has been shared all over social media today. But this is by far the most inspiring piece about it. It’s so great to see women play such a key role in the advancement of science.
Here's the moment when the first black hole image was processed, from the eyes of researcher Dr. Katie Bouman.
Just to clarify, this was the first image *ANYONE EVER MADE* of a black hole.
