Sam is from Oceanside California. He joined KA in the spring of 23’ as apart of the Beta Psi pledge class. He will be graduating from NAU this spring with a degree in Finance. After college Sam plans to move back to Southern California where he has an internship lined up with LPL Financial.
-
I joined KA because I wanted to find a group of people I could truly call my family. I came to Arizona not knowing anyone, but through KA I found guys who supported me, pushed me, and made this place feel like home. To me, brotherhood means having people who have your back no matter what celebrating the highs together and helping each other get through the lows. One lesson I’ve learned in college that I’ll carry with me after graduation is the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people. The people you choose to keep close can shape your mindset, your habits, and ultimately your future.

Jackson Fleming

Jackson is from Crystal Lake, Illinois and moved to Arizona his freshman year. He joined Kappa Alpha Order in the fall of 22’ as part of the Beta Chi pledge class. He will be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. During his time in KA, Jackson served as Head Merchandise Chair for three years, where he played a big role in creating apparel and helping build the chapter’s identity and culture. After graduation, Jackson plans to pursue a career in marketing and continue building on the skills and experiences.
-
I joined KA to find a group of guys that would push me to be better and help me grow into the best version of myself. Moving from Illinois to Arizona was a big change, and KA gave me a place where I felt comfortable and supported right away.
To me, brotherhood is more about the everyday stuff than anything else. It’s the people you end up spending most of your time with, whether that’s just hanging out, going on trips, or doing nothing but still having a good time. That’s where most of my best memories came from.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that growth doesn’t always look the way you expect it to. A lot of the time, things don’t go exactly how you planned, but they still end up putting you in a better position in the long run. Learning to trust that and stay consistent will be something I will carry with me after college.

-
I joined a chapter to find a family away from home, to find friends with similar interest that push each-other to be better each and every day. KA became that and so much more, a place to learn and grow into a leader that will help me through my career for the rest of the my life. Brotherhood is to me means having people surrounding you that care and want you to be better each and every day, through school and outside of it. One lesson I learned through college is that even if you feel like you cannot accomplish something, when you put your mind and heart towards it, you can do that and so much more. These guys have made such an impact on my life and I am forever grateful. Excelsior⚔️

I joined a fraternity to build a strong network, push myself outside my comfort zone, and be around people who are motivated to grow personally and professionally. Brotherhood to me means having a group of guys who genuinely support you, hold you accountable, and are there for you through both the highs and lows. One lesson I’ve learned in college that I’ll carry after graduation is the importance of discipline. Staying consistent with your goals, even when it’s not convenient, is what really sets you apart in the long run.

-
Vincent is from Scottsdale, Arizona. This May, Vincent will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in business. He was initiated into our chapter with the Beta Chi pledge class. During his time at NAU, he had the amazing opportunity to travel abroad and study in Athens, Greece. After graduation, Vinny will be heading back to get some more international work experience before starting a master’s program.
-
I wanted to pursue joining a fraternity because I had a fresh start coming here to Flagstaff, and I wanted to find my community. When rushing, KA is where I felt at home, mainly because of the people I was surrounded by. Brotherhood means a path to being a part of something bigger than oneself, with the type of guys you want to know for the rest of your life. If I’ve learned anything from my time here in this chapter, it’s that once you have found excellent people you choose to spend your time with, it’s remarkable how quickly they can become family.

Senior spotlight:
Reed Smaracko
Reed is from Rollinsford, NH and joined Kappa Alpha in the Fall of 24’ apart of the Gamma Beta pledge class. He will be graduating NAU with a degree in Fitness Wellness. He plans to move to Charleston, SC to pursue a career in the health industry.
Reed is known for being a gentleman, his ability to have a good time and keep the chives high.
I joined Kappa Alpha to be a part of a social community that would help bring out my best traits. The Order has brought me many opportunities to learn, participate in the NAU community and explore new places.
Brotherhood represents shared values and support in every aspect of life, from the classroom to the weight room to camping in random woods. The brothers of The Order I have created my best college memories with and if I did it again I would choose the same group.
The biggest lesson I have learned in college is that discomfort is the price of growth. Putting yourselves in new situations and pushing new limits allows you to grow in all aspects of life.
