Information about the Workshop:
The Personal Chaos Index (PCI) was first presented by author and psychologist Patrick J. Carnes in his groundbreaking book on addiction recovery, A Gentle Path through the Twelve Steps: The Classic Guide for All People in the Process of Recovery. Although created for individuals in recovery, the PCI has uses beyond maintaining sobriety, and one of them is to monitor resilience.
The PCI is a universal tracking tool that can be used by anyone to monitor and maintain simple behaviors which support lifestyle balance. The PCI helps as a daily reminder of what we need to be doing in order to live a healthy way of life. It can help you establish good habits and create confidence during periods of stress.
The PCI is a build-it-yourself tool in which ANYONE can benefit from. It looks at 10 major life areas and identifies seven activities that are tracked daily. Tracking allows us to see if we are living in serenity or are starting to become burnt out.
Led by Substance Use Disorder Program Coordinator Lauren Timmermans, NCC, LPC, CSAT, MBA
