Today, we celebrate the dedication, hard work, and heart of the people who help our communities thrive.

At RMA, we’re especially grateful for the educators, staff, families, therapists, community partners, and supporters who show up every day to help our students reach new heights. ⛰️💙

The work of supporting children takes patience, creativity, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart—and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who is part of our RMA community.

💜 September is Su***de Prevention & Awareness Month.

At Rising Mountain Academy, we believe every child deserves to know one very important thing:

You belong here.

For children and teens with disabilities and other special needs, that sense of belonging can be especially important. Many experience bullying, exclusion, loneliness, difficulty communicating what they are feeling, or the exhausting pressure to hide parts of themselves in order to fit in.

That is why creating a truly inclusive school is about more than academics.

It is about building relationships.
It is about noticing when a student seems different than usual.
It is about making space for big feelings.
It is about teaching children that asking for help is a strength.
And it is about creating a community where being different never means being less.

At RMA, we want our students to grow up knowing that their differences are valuable, their voices deserve to be heard, and there are adults who will continue showing up for them—even on the hard days.

During Su***de Prevention & Awareness Month, we are reminded of how powerful connection, acceptance, and belonging can be.

To our students: You don't have to become someone else to belong here. 💜

And to the adults in their lives: keep asking questions. Keep listening. Keep creating spaces where children can tell you how they are really doing.

Together, we can build communities where every child knows their life has value and there is always someone willing to listen.

📚🌱 Back into the rhythm at RMA!

We haven’t been taking quite as many pictures lately—and there’s a pretty good reason. Our classrooms have been busy getting back into the rhythm of school, building routines, and diving into learning. Sometimes the best moments are the ones where everyone is simply too engaged to grab the camera. 💛

Schoolwork is officially back in full swing, but learning at Rising Mountain Academy goes far beyond pencils and paper. 🎨🌿 We’ve been making more time for art, outdoor play, creativity, and hands-on experiences.

Our backyard space is also coming to life! We’ve been busy building, setting things up, and creating another space where our students can explore, play, learn, and grow.

And we can’t forget some of our smallest RMA classroom members… 🐟 Our classroom fish are thriving just as much as our students are!

Here’s to finding our rhythm, creating spaces that feel good to learn in, and reaching new heights together. 🏔️💛

Today, we’re celebrating some very important members of the RMA family—the furry friends of our amazing RMA teachers! 🐶💛

Our pups may not join us in the classroom every day, but they remind us of so many things we value at RMA: connection, curiosity, patience, play, and unconditional acceptance.

Just like our students, every pup has their own personality, preferences, strengths, and way of experiencing the world—and we think that’s something worth celebrating. 💛

✨ Finding Our Rhythm at Rising Mountain Academy! ✨🔬
This past week may have been a little lighter on photos, but it was BIG on something just as important—building routines, finding our rhythm, and getting back into learning! 💛

Our students have been settling into their school days, diving into their schoolwork, and beginning to feel comfortable with the routines that help make each day successful.

And now the fun is really starting… S.T.E.A.M. activities are officially underway! 🧪⚙️🎨📐 We’re excited to give our students opportunities to explore, create, problem-solve, experiment, and learn through hands-on experiences.

Sometimes the best weeks aren’t the ones with the most pictures—they’re the ones where you can see everything starting to click. 🏔️💛

Rising Mountain Academy is growing—and we are looking for passionate community leaders to help guide our next chapter.

We are currently recruiting members for our Board of Directors, with opportunities to contribute through finance, governance and policy, fundraising and development, and program and curriculum leadership.

We are looking for people who believe children with disabilities deserve meaningful opportunities to learn, belong, and thrive. Previous board experience is helpful but not required. What matters most is a willingness to actively serve, share your expertise, and champion RMA’s mission.

If you—or someone you know—could bring valuable leadership, experience, or community connections to Rising Mountain Academy, we would love to connect.

🎒✨ What a great first week back at Rising Mountain Academy! ✨🎒
Our building is full of students again, and we couldn’t be more excited — with even more friends joining us soon! 💛

This week was all about connection, relationships, and finding our rhythm together. We spent time getting to know one another, reconnecting with familiar faces, building classroom routines, and most importantly… having FUN!

At RMA, we know that strong relationships and a sense of belonging create the foundation for learning. 🏔️

We’re only one week in, and we already can’t wait to see where this school year takes us. Here’s to a year of learning, growing, friendships, laughter, and reaching new heights together! 🌟

🎉 We're Excited to Partner with Care 4 Caregivers! 🍂

Rising Mountain Academy is thrilled to be part of Care 4 Caregivers' Fall Kick-Off Party, and we hope you'll join us for an evening of community, connection, and fun!

This free, family-friendly event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the start of the fall caregiver season while connecting with other local families and organizations that support our community.
