So proud of Sydney Rittershaus, undergraduate in the School of Earth and Sustainability and student gardener in SSLUG. She’s worked so hard this summer to get this garden in full production. Just look at this haul and these amazing beds! The Transcending Barriers to Success greenhouse continues to produce starts and tomatoes as we extend the growing season here at 7000’!

One of the SSLUG (Students for Sustainable Living and Urban Gardening) Garden’s sustainable initiatives is rainwater harvesting! πŸ’¦
This past week, Flagstaff has been receiving rain almost every day and the garden is loving it! We not only capitalize on rainwater harvesting during this time, but we also have been seeing how many weeds we can pull because of how moist the ground is. 🌧
We currently have four rainwater catching tanks that we utilize for our entire garden. Come check out the garden this week to see how well the vegetables, fruits, perennial flowers, and annual flowers are flourishing! πŸŒ»πŸ‡
