Jason and I spent this lesson working on hearing a tune and picking it out by ear. He did a great job discovering the verse chord progression to Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down." Nice work as usual!!

Arushi has been a student of mine for two years now. Not only do we play guitar in my classes, we work on extra musical concepts such as rhythm, dynamics, and articulations! This is her, 11 years old knocking a 6/8 rhythm out of the park.

An incredible experience. Eleven students went to compete as a duo, trio, quartet and large ensemble and they played beautifully and powerfully.
The crew did not place in the competition but, we all walked away with a deep satisfaction in our preparedness and attempt.
This group proved to me that a high-school,
elective guitar class can give students artistic experiences that will stay with them forever. We will be back at the GFA next summer to continue the tradition of impactful classroom
guitar education.
I'm so thankful to be a part of these students' stories - Go Flagtown and I love MY CREW!
