Hosted by the Students Association of Graduate Anthropologists (SAGA), Dr. Nicole Rose will be discussing not only the technological advancements in Eurasia, but also the imperialist traditions that grew in the area.

Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. A celebration for all Hispanic identifying people in the United States. From September 15-October 15, people across the country will celebrate and remember the impact that Hispanic Americans have made to the U.S.

Arianna Martínez is our next senior spotlight! She is graduating with an Anthropology major with an Emphasis in Archaeology and a Museum Studies minor. This is her plan for after graduation:

I'm excited to be moving to New York City in a month to begin a nine month curatorial internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I'll be working on a Maya Art exhibition opening in the Michael C. Rockefeller Wing in November! This opportunity is a dream come true and I'm grateful for the experiences I gained at NAU that lead me to pursue a career in archaeology and museum work.

We are so proud of you Arianna! We are so excited for you to go to New York and we can’t wait to hear more about it!!🎓🎉🎓

We have Hector Campos for our next Senior Spotlight. He is a double major in Anthropology with and Emphasis in Archaeology and Strategic Communication with an Emphasis in Advertising. This is his plan for after graduation:

I’m excited to be a part of the Arizona Teacher Residency Program. I will be receiving my Masters in Elementary Education while also teach in a local Phoenix school district. I hope to be a role model for all of these students with an end goal of becoming a university professor or creating the new curricula for the state of Arizona.

We are so excited to see the change that you will make. We wish you all the best in your teaching journey! Congratulations!🇲🇽👨🏾‍🏫🎓

We have Nataly Solis Miranda as our next Senior Spotlight! Her major is Anthropology with a sociocultural emphasis and a minor in Criminal Justice. This is her plan after graduation:

I plan on doing research, especially in community engagement. I want to help my community back at home. Graduating as a first gen and a Latina could encourage more students in my community to possibly think about college and trade school. I want to help my Latine community to flourish!

You truly are an inspiration Nataly and we are so proud of you. We can’t wait to hear more about your research! Congratulations!!🎓🇲🇽
