Our unique curriculum not only provides important context in the history & philosophy of higher education, but also a deeper dive into counseling skills and knowledge, which will benefit you in any career direction.

Sheridan is originally from Paso Robles, CA but spent the last 10 years going to school and working as an Admissions Counselor in Missoula, MT. Here at NAU she is the Graduate Assistant for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation and is a first year in the CSA program. When she's not working, in class, or studying, you can find her spending time outside in the mountains and forests around Flagstaff.

Student spotlight: Meet Juliana Chiarelli. Juliana is a 1st year student in Counseling Student Affairs from California. She is the GA for the Academic Success Centers where she leads academic workshops and works one-on-one with students to set up weekly tutoring appointments. Today we spent the class examining three case studies and presenting them in a creative format including skit, interviews, and “one-sentence” stories. We chose two analysis frameworks to draw from (e.g., organizational structure, identity, institutional type) in our analysis and presented possible solutions to the class. Engaged learning!
