PreK Classroom Highlight: The Orange Giraffe class recently celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month learning about Frida Kahlo!

Who is Frida Kahlo?
Frida Kahlo was a famous artist from Mexico. She loved to paint pictures that showed her feelings, family, nature, and the world around her. She loved to paint self portraits of herself! The Orange Giraffes joined in celebrating Frida Kahlo by drawing and painting a self portrait of her.

🌈 Preschool Message

“I can be creative, just like Frida! I can use colors, pictures, and my imagination to tell my story.”

🥞🍿 P is for Pancakes & Popcorn! 🍿🥞

Grade Level Highlight: Our kindergarteners had so much fun learning about the letter P! 💜💛

🍽️ From enjoying pancakes in the classroom to munching on popcorn, our students discovered that learning their letters can be so much fun!

🏡 Parent Engagement: Challenge your child to find things around the house that begin with the letter P. Can they find a pillow, pet, pumpkin, plate, or pajamas? What else can they discover?

Classroom Highlight: 🌽C is for CORN! 💛

Our kindergartners had a *crunchy* learning experience as they explored the letter C by trying freeze-dried corn for the very first time! 🌽 Their curious faces and reactions made this hands-on learning activity extra fun!

A HUGE thank-you to our amazing community partners, Ms. Lynn and Mr. George from G&L, for donating the corn and helping us make learning memorable for our students! 💜💛

🍂📚 **Fall Break Reading at The Be Happy Place!** ☀️💜💛

We’re sharing a few more special moments from last week’s Georgia Pre-K Week and celebrating all the wonderful readers who visited our classrooms! ❤️ Thank you to everyone who helped make reading so much fun for our students!

As we enjoy Fall Break, let’s keep those little minds growing! 🌟 Here are a few easy ways to make reading part of your week:

📖 Read a favorite book together for 10–15 minutes each day.
🔤 Play rhyming games and practice recognizing beginning sounds.
🗣️ Talk about stories, ask questions, and build vocabulary.
🍁 Read recipes, signs, and menus during everyday adventures.
🏛️ Visit the public Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Library to discover new books and explore free activities!

Reading aloud, talking about words, and practicing letter sounds all help build strong foundations for learning to read.

Wishing all our BHP families a safe, relaxing, and book-filled Fall Break! Keep shining, keep reading, and keep growing! ☀️💛
