Stoner Prairie Elementary serves nearly 400 students in the Verona Area School District.
The Verona Area School District (VASD), alongside Stoner Prairie, is working with all district schools to ensure that:
•Every student has a personalized learning plan that provides a path to discovery and achievement and that plan is reviewed and changed at least annually based on the student’s needs
•Every student’s parent, guardian or advocate participates directly in the design, implementation

We're looking for local people to help our students become better readers. As part of Reading Corps, you'll work with K-3 students to provide extra practice and individual support. Part-time and full-time opportunities are available beginning in August. Tutors earn a paycheck every 2 weeks, plus additional money for tuition or student loans. Reading Tutors serve during the school day and work with pairs of K-3 students to help them build skills and confidence. With great training and support from an onsite coach, you’ll use proven activities that help students improve as readers.
This is a paid AmeriCorps member position with Reading Corps. No teaching experience is required! All you need is a passion to help kids succeed. By giving your time as a tutor, you can make an incredible impact and help our students thrive!
Tutor Perks
· A paycheck every two weeks
