Connecting Educators for Enhanced Teaching and Learning
Oct. 27 - Nov. 10, 2025
This course is designed for educators who are ready to move beyond the basics of generative AI and emerging technologies. Participants will explore how to design innovative, ethical, and impactful learning experiences that leverage AI tools to support teaching and elevate student learning. Through hands-on exploration using a variety of strategies, tools, and real-world applications, educators will deepen their understanding of AI’s role in education, develop classroom-ready strategies, and build leadership capacity for guiding others in this rapidly evolving landscape.

Join Communications Media Professor Kyle Moody for the Summer Institute for Journalism Education at Fitchburg State University. This year, we’ll be hosting the free event at Fitchburg State University on August 12-14, 2024. The days will run 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and the event is open to the public.
Breakfast, coffee, and lunch will be provided on all days for those who register.
Our keynote speaker will be Dan Kennedy from Northeastern University, speaking about his latest book What Works in Community News: Media Startups, News Deserts, and the Future of the Fourth Estate (with Ellen Clegg).
This conference is ideal for high school educators and college instructors looking to expand their knowledge base in this growing field. The Summer Institute is a wonderful opportunity for participants to develop key concepts in research, apply new lessons to the classroom, and address educators across the Commonwealth and beyond about issues facing journalism, news literacy, and new media technologies.
