Even Friday afternoon, who would’ve ever guessed Saturday would be so perfect? ☔️🌦️☀️

Honored to welcome Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll to Fitchburg State yesterday as our undergraduate commencement speaker.

Her presence on our campus meant a great deal. As a public servant, community leader, and part of the first all woman executive team in Massachusetts history, she represents so much of what we believe in at Fitchburg State: opportunity, resilience, access, and the power of public education to change lives.

Last week, we were proud to attend the 29th Annual Boulder Award Dinner hosted by FATV.

A special congratulations to Fitchburg State students Michael Burns, Josh Cronin, and Zoe Chrisostomedes for earning a national award in community journalism — and an additional congratulations to Michael on receiving the Bob Wilson Memorial Award.

We were also glad to celebrate alongside two outstanding FSU faculty members: Dr. Kyle Moody from Communications Media, who also serves on the FATV Board of Directors, and Dr. Wafa Unus from the English Studies Department.

Proud of our for a strong showing at this spring’s 2026 MASCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted right here at ! 👟⭐️💚

Our men’s team finished second overall, with standout performances from Liam Bourassa, who captured four conference titles, and Paulino Guevara Mateo, who won both the 1,500m and 5,000m races.

On the women’s side, Makany Camara brought home two conference championships, while Skye Goba and Taylor Crout each earned first-place finishes in their events.

A great day for Fitchburg State Track & Field and a reminder of the talent, discipline, and heart our student-athletes bring to everything they do. Congratulations to our athletes, coaches, and staff. I loved spending part of the day with the teams.

A few weeks ago, students from across Fitchburg State came together for our annual Undergraduate Conference for Research and Creative Practice, one of the great culminating events of the spring semester.

Campus was filled with poster presentations, creative writing, visual art, research projects, technology demonstrations, and lightning talks representing disciplines from across the university. It was a terrific showcase of the talent, creativity, and hard work of our students and the faculty mentors who support them.

Proud of every student who shared their work and helped make the day such a success.
