Fitchburg High School Class of 1972 A page for members of the Fitchburg High School Class of 1972. It was the year that the draft lottery was finally ended. The year of Watergate.

The introduction of the first video game and the first electronic calculator. We listened to Don McLean and Jesus Christ Superstar, watched The Godfather and the Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. Our Fitchburg High School was located on Academy Street in Fitchburg, and we would hang out on the stairs of Wallace Way as we waited for the opening bell. We ate pizza at Espresso's and protected our school co

lors painted on The Rock. We set records in the high jump and our football team beat Leominster on Thanksgiving Day 27-19, sending us to the first MIAA Super Bowl game. The Red Raiders of 1972 emerged triumphant against a strong Greenfield team becoming the first MIAA Super Bowl champions.

We recently learned that our classmate, Nancy Rahnasto Osborne, passed away in March. ( Thank you to Lisa Rubinstein Scholl for passing along this information.).

Nancy was a brilliant and talented lady. She will be missed. Our condolences to her family and friends.
