Congratulations to one of our most recent graduates, Yusuf Byrd, on accepting an offer to join Philadelphia Department of Streets Survey Division as an Engineering Aide!

Yusuf was a great addition to our classroom, showcasing a bright mind, positive energy, and great teamwork skills. We loved watching him learn about our industry and grow as a young professional. We are so proud of his accomplishments and cannot wait to see what else lies in store for Yusuf!

Yesterday was an incredible day as we celebrated our 5th cohort’s graduation from Rodriguez University!

We’re extremely proud of these individuals and cannot wait to see all that they accomplish! Special thanks to everyone who came out to support our students at the graduation and throughout the entire program. Special shout-out to Danilo Burgos for presenting our students with congratulatory certificates on behalf of the Commonwealth! We’re so grateful for all of the support that our program and students have received.

The future is looking bright for Philadelphia as our cohort enters the infrastructure workforce! Keep an eye out on our page in the upcoming weeks to see which career paths our students take!

We had an extra special guest yesterday as we welcomed to our classroom!

Our team had an amazing time hearing from Councilwoman Quetcy Lozada, representing Philadelphia’s 7th District. Councilwoman Quetcy gave extremely valuable insight to our cohort regarding what City Council is and its overall role within our community along with sharing more about her mission for the 7th District.

Hands-on learning at Rodriguez University!

Our students successfully completed a lab today, building a scale model of a water distribution system using PVC pipes and plastic bottles to simulate water towers. This exercise gave them real-world insights into water pressure, flow control, and the mechanics behind urban infrastructure systems.

Awesome teamwork and a fantastic learning experience! 💧🔧

Justin gave us an incredibly insighful presentation on TTF, expanding our team’s knowledge on the organization and the important work to be done surrounding watersheds. We love getting to dive into new and exciting topics with other industry professional and had a great time learning more about Justin and TTF!

Pebbles, a recent graduate of RU, was an outstanding student from the very start. Showcasing her leadership skills, positive enegery, and bright mind, Pebbles excelled greatly throughout the program.
Following RU, Pebbles has accepted a role at PWD and will be joining their team as a community apprentice! We are so proud of Pebbles and everything she has accomplished!

Yesterday, RU had a special guest speaker in class - Lily Reynolds, Director of Federal Infrastructure Strategy!

When speaking with our students, Lily Reynolds shared invaluable insights on the lifecycle of infrastructure projects—from planning and design to construction and maintenance. Focused on the critical role of maintenance, Lily highlighted how these efforts ensure longevity and functionality in our urban landscape. Through her work and her involvement in monitoring funds through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Lily directly enhances Philadelphia’s infrastructure and fosters significant apprenticeship opportunities, preparing students for essential roles in skilled trades.

R U ready to meet our newest cohort?!💡

This week was the start of the next round of our workforce development program. We are beyond excited to train a new group of eager young professionals and guide them through the beginning stages of their career paths in the field of infrastructure!

For this round, we’re thrilled to offer more weeks of classes and more participation spots. We are beyond excited to begin this 16-week infrastructure journey with 16 incredible students! Through the program, our goal is to equip our students with the skills needed for successful careers in this vital sector.
