Today marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

On this day in 2001, most radio stations simulcasted news after attacks began bringing down the World Trade Center.

In the aftermath, music became part of the healing process, comforting many who have been immersed in the news cycle, trying to make sense of the tragedy. A number of benefit concerts took place, including America: A Tribute to Heroes, which was simulcast on all four major networks September 21, 2001. Bruce Springsteen played "My City Of Ruins"; Billy Joel sang "New York State Of Mind." Paul Simon, who was raised in New York City, performed "Bridge Over Troubled Water," the Simon & Garfunkel classic about finding the strength to make it through difficult times.

We are taking this day to honor those that were lost, along with appreciating our first responders. We are sending love to anyone in our musical family that has lost a loved one on this tragic day.

Today we mourn the loss of iconic country singer Dolly Parton, whom passed away yesterday at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer.

Dolly has a massive and beloved discography, including hits like "9 to 5," "Jolene," and "I Will Always Love You."

Dolly Parton was one of the most honored country performers, earning eleven Grammy Awards and three Emmy Awards, as well as nominations for two Academy Awards, six Golden Globes and a Tony Award. She was also known for her cultural influence and philanthropy via Dollywood and the Dollywood Foundation. With more than 100 million records sold, she is among the best-selling music artists of all time.

Dolly came from humble beginnings, often referencing a poverty-stricken childhood where her mother would hand sew patchwork coats for her to wear. Later in life, she used her riches to support causes like her Imagination Library, which sends books to children in an effort to fight illiteracy.

Dolly unfortunately passed away before the opening of her museum, "Dolly's Life of Many Colors," this October. She also will miss the opening night of her broadway musical, "Dolly: A True Original Musical," set to open in January of 2027.

Rest in Peace, Dolly.

"Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life." - Dolly Parton
