Our first project is always famous “dotwork”… third grade Georgia O’Keefe study begins with dots in the middle of their poinsettias. Every grade level hears The Dot at the beginning of every year…And we were fortunate enough to host Peter Reynolds and his twin brother, Paul, in May of last year. My students are always excited to be reminded to “make their mark and see where it takes them” for their first project and all throughout the year. Everyone’s first project is their art to remember submission as well. So we always make certain that they are winter subject matter. This lesson is always successful for every artist which makes it a favorite! Plus for this old art teacher Georgia remains a favorite always!
