April's Daycare & Preschool has been licensed through the state of NE since 2005 and April's Adventure Academy has been licensed since May of 2019.
There may be some openings available for the 2021/22 school year but that will not be known until mid summer. These could be preschool only openings and/or full time openings. If you are interested in taking a peak at our main Facebook account, send April a message! This account is not used on a regular basis. Please know that our hours are from 7:15 until 4:20/4:30. We've been very fortunate to have these shorter hours and I am very thankful to all who have adjusted their work hours to make family life and work life work for me!
Our two daycares are set up on our acerage just South of Firth and have amazing outdoor spaces and indoor spaces as well! I have been in the education/daycare business for many, many years...started babysitting at about age 12, worked at daycare centers through college, was a respite care provider during college, was a lead teacher for school age programs, was a K-8 Art teacher for Colfax-Mingo CSD in Iowa upon graduating from UNL with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. After two years of teaching Art, the district transferred me to a 1st grade classroom. After two years of teaching first grade, we made the decision to move back to Nebraska and that is when April's Daycare & Preschool was established. I always thought I would go back to teaching in the public schools when all of my children started school. After opening my second location I made the commitment to myself, my daycare families and the community of Firth to continue providing daycare and preschool services indefinitely! I love my "job" and all that have been a part of my programs through the years. I've had amazing families, helpers and support from my family during the past 16 years. I am thankful for all who have been apart of what I have established and look forward to making new connections as the years go on. I take pride in telling people that I am fully committed to my daycare/preschool programs!
