Millstream Career Center’s Manufacturing & Industrial Robotics seniors are the first students in the nation to participate in Whirlpool’s WASH (Whirlpool Apprenticeship Skilled Trades Hub), a direct pathway connecting students to Whirlpool’s skilled-trades apprenticeship programs. During the pilot year, two Millstream students will have the opportunity to transition directly into Whirlpool’s Electrician, Millwright, or Tool & Die apprenticeship programs, providing a clear pathway from high school to a high-skilled, high-paying career. Following the pilot, Whirlpool plans to expand the partnership at Millstream and explore implementation across its other five manufacturing plants in Ohio and ultimately across the United States.

Yesterday our construction programs welcomed in Mike Homan from Wayne Builders Supply and Keith Young from the Ohio Masonry Association. They provided an excellent presentation on masonry industry standards and insights into the career field. Some of our students interested in masonry got to try their hand at laying some block.
