Crystal Whipkey, board member for Ohio TESOL and a member of the OEA EL Cadre, had the opportunity to present at the Ohio TESOL conference this year and share her wisdom and knowledge with participants eager to learn from an expert! 🌎

The conference was also attended by our EL Coordinator, Kelly Wohlgamuth, and five EL teachers, who got to spend this time learning and growing as a team. Our staff members love learning, and we are grateful when they get the opportunity to do so together! 💛

⭐️Trojan Country Reminder:

There is no school for students on Thursday and Friday, October 15-16, for Fall Break. 🍁 🍂

Our staff will be busy learning, growing, diving-in, *and* doing all the things it takes to close out Quarter 1.

➡️ Do you have thoughts about the calendar setup for the school year? Be sure to submit them to the calendar survey that was sent to families before it closes this week. 👍🏻

The Ohio School Boards Association Regional Fall Conference was an evening filled with Trojan Pride.

Stephanie Heiserman Wendt was presented the Excellence Award for Outstanding Leadership, and if you know her, you know why.

After 12 years in the classroom, Stephanie’s decision to stay home to raise her kids didn’t stop her impact in our district...or keep her “at home” for very long. 💙💛

She has spent her days volunteering, substitute teaching, leading and participating in our booster organizations, filling in wherever there is a need, and doing everyone, as she says, to fulfill her goal of “making teachers’, students’, and coaches’ lives easier.”

Stephanie lives and breathes blue and gold, and we don’t know how we got so lucky to have her contributions in our district and community.

Thank you for your impact, Stephanie. We are so glad you could be recognized for the difference you make here.

An auditorium renovation at Findlay High School resulted in a relocated Fall Concert for the 260 students in the FHS choir program…and the stage at MCPA was the most beautiful substitute.

It was extra special to see our students on stage in the same space that once held so many of our Findlay City Schools performances, and the same space where many of their parents and grandparents performed. 🎶

Thank you to MCPA for saving the day so the show could go on. We are so grateful for your partnership in growing the arts in our community.

Bravo to our choir program, their wonderful concert, and all of the talent on display this evening.

Findlay City Schools Preschool celebrated Dolly’s Day in the very best way: with books! 🩷

Dolly’s Day honors the work of Dolly Parton and the Imagination Library…and since we love readers around here, we are grateful for those who teach kids to love reading. 💛
