Millard High School is excited to welcome Cody Fowkes as our Vice Principal!
Hello Everyone!
I’m Cody Fowkes, and I’m excited for this new role on the team!
A little about me: I’ve spent about 12 years in education, which means I’ve been around long enough to have learned a lot…and also long enough to know that sometimes the best educational strategy is simply surviving until Friday. 😂
I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in History, along with Spanish and ESL endorsements. I later earned my Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology from WGU and my Administrative Endorsement from SUU. Somewhere along the way I also picked up elementary and CTE endorsements. Basically, I kept going to school because apparently my retention skills are lacking.
I’ve taught elementary, middle school, and high school. Starting out in Eagle View Elementary teaching 7th grade, Vernal Middle, Mona Elementary and last stop was in Juab High. I've taught a little bit of everything. At this point, if someone hands me a class roster and a set of keys, we'll get it figured out, but I'm no expert!
Outside of school, my wife and high school sweetheart, Adrianne and I are business owners and have operated Crumbl stores in San Diego. Owning restaurants has taught me patience, problem-solving, and creating a culture of teamwork.
I also help coach football, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll hear me talking about blocking, tackling, effort, or telling someone to get their toes pointed in the right direction.
My wife and I have five kids, so between being a dad, educator, coach, and business owner, I have become extremely skilled at looking like I know what’s going on even when I absolutely do not. 😂
More than anything, I love working with kids and being part of a great school. I believe schools should be places where people work hard, laugh a lot, support each other, and remember that we’re all on the same team. We're one family.
I’m excited to get to know everyone better, learn from you, help wherever I can, and hopefully have a lot of fun along the way.
And if you see me wandering the halls looking confused during the first few weeks…just point me in the right direction. 😄 I'll miss my team on the custodial staff, but I'm still there guys!
